Sounds like osmosis Jones (i liked that movie) I thought the first one was cute, which is one of the main reasons I liked it. It’ll be interesting to see how this compares

@momocihi Bro maybe we just arent seeing the same anime. You are probably looking at Re:zero lightly. Maybe watch some analysis videos on Subaru's character. Subaru the Subaru you seen in all of season one isnt him. Thats him pretending to be the hero of the story. Thats him living in the shadow of his father. There are real legitimate reasons for the deconstruction of his being. He does go crazy and then bounce back thats him ignoring his problems when no ones else butbhim understands thats why he breaks down with echidna cuz no one understood but her. Then when he was eaten alive it broke him which she then had to save him from himself. Cuz he was broken. The people in Subaru's life are helping him out. There is a support system. There isnt any sole event chipping at his mental state, its already broken, but he tapes it together and drags on. Thats what makes his story unique. Unlike kaneki there isnt any redos. Kaneki doesnt experience death over and over. Imagine the thoughts racung through your mind when you know you are dying. Sure he knows this moment isnt his last but he still feels pain, the rush of emotions, the thoughts he has. Imaging the first time he died how that must have felt. Kaneki isnt as complex as subaru. His mother? Then the whole jason thing nah that anguish is nothing compared to dying alone multiple times and nkt having the ones you love most understand you and abandon you, or even die for your sake. Its not lazy isekai stuff dont compare it to these other anime. There is actual world building. Each character holds a purpose and they serve that purpose. Even side characters arent just martyrs they hold a purpose. Things are being explained even to this episode infact fucking season 2 part 2 has just been dialogue after dialogue. Its basically a light novel animated at this point.

Now his powers, granted to him by a witch. Why? We dont know yet, still havent gotten that far. Why he was dragged into the isekai world? Idk why maybe it was a parallel subaru calling out to him. In the beginning you can see a dying subaru asking for help. We dont know why he is there yet. Again more explaining. Everything isnt handed to us it pieced together. You learn something and 20 episodes later you go "oh so thats why"
