Looks don't matter if you're ugly on the inside. Nothing more unattractive than a chisled asshole. Also, a sense of humor is a damn sexy quality.

Yeah looks matter. if you are not physically attracted to someone but are personality level then thats just friendship. However you can grow to like someone physically

@Veru, there is something insidiously nasty about someone who is both attractive and unlikable. It's like the attractiveness ADDS to your dislike of them somehow

Yeah, I think looks matter at the surface level. But yeah, like some of the previous posts mentioned it won't get you through everything Like I personally know some dudes that can probably be male models with their looks but at the same time are just shitty people who have no self-control and have lives that are legitimately dumpster fires due to their poor personality and decisions. They have no issues with women but they sure as hell have issues holding down meaningful relationships, since they seem to attract a bunch of vain and shallow women. It's kinda ironic because I'm fairly average looking and I've legitmately had more luck with relationships than guys I know that are legitimately models like one of my cousins for instance. :u

yes looks matter, thats pretty well know for example, people can trust more a stranger handsome man/woman than an average looking man/woman look MO, most of the ones that have a more active social life here and are pretty famous are the handsome/cute/beautiful girls/boys

looks are the hook what you see of someone is the first thing you see. maybe if you get to know them better, it starts to matter less, but oftentimes online and in-person are the only thing that people can judge you by, especially if they rarely talk to you. and looks can be the difference between friendship material and dating material; though usually if someone takes care of themself they'll probably be fine.

note also that even online, how you present yourself matters in terms of your username/avatar. if your user is "dumpsterfire" and you have a picture of a garbage bag, people will react differently than if you have a username of "angel" and a kawaii anime girl.

You require looks if you're ever gonna approach someone successfully, there's people out there who sadly look a very specific way that might give the impression they aren't sane mentally... Most of the times it's not even their faces but unkempt hair whether head one or facial one, dirty clothes or torn ones, bad smell and yellow teeth come to my mind as well. I understand not everyone can afford to fix all senses of healthcare - clothing - hair if they have a receding line, being presentable is half of the battle when it comes to looks, after all, if you lost the genetic lottery all you can do is be clean. Now, assuming the first step of attraction has been bypassed, chemistry is the next step that determines whether something succeeds or not, looks matter a lot! however it entirely depends on what you're seeking!!

Dunno, I think majority of physical attraction you feel for people comes a lot from how people actually treat you (least for me). I've said no to quite a few of "popular" ones irl for which like every guy around drooled for. Simply because I disliked their attitude and way of life, which kinda grossed me out away from them despite their "equipment".... On the other hand. One could be just "an ordinary village girl", but I would see her as the most beautiful thing on Earth just for her honesty, short temper followed by truth bombing me when I do something retarded, and sharing my desire to explore the world. <3
