Using FaceBook: Yay or Nay?

Deleted mine last year, feel more at ease and if I missed anything important I ask a family member or friend IRL to check for me. I disliked being addicted to checking it everyday and feeling pressured to "participate".

Sites like facebook lately feels much more like an anti-social network than a social one. And I personally feel like "friends" on fb are really just several small unnecessary connections - and rarely do many of them check up on eachother because, well, there is no reason to exactly go to someone and message how theyre doing, considering people always post their whole life story for all to see. Really people dont feel the need to reach out as often, especially when, as I said, your friends list is just several small connections, and I also feel that can get overwhelming. Youd much rather have few strong friendships than several weak.ones. Its like amount of friends is a sort of competition (my own brother has close to a thousand, I have over a hundred and I still feel like I dont even have 1/10 of those as people I can call actual friends. Also I feel like too much facebook can definitely lead to depression - I feel we all compare ourselves with others too often on social media and it leads to all sort of issues that are just unhealthy. I basically use facebook to share memes, maybe some pictures and to message /some/ people. Pretty soon I may delete my fb or make a new, more confined one for fewer friends. We shall see. Oh, also tbh, using facebook makes it so easy to sign up on other sites.
