Advice for the outside world...

Okay, so I'm pretty much done with the online "dating" thing. Nothing really comes of it, and most of the time the conversations don't last long. Where are some good places to find people who like this stuff? I try to think where I would go, but I don't really go to many places except for the bookstore sometimes. I also find it weird to go to places just for that purpose... Basically what i'm asking is, how do people find each other away from the computer?

You might be able to find anime clubs that have offline meetups. They're mostly part of schools but I've heard some areas have em for general public too. Bookstores such as barns and noble have been known to have lots of weebs camping out around the manga section, you can hover around there, library might work too. Arcades are also an option. These days arcades are filled with mostly weeb games since American companies don't really make arcade machines anymore, as such they're a meeting point for plenty of anime loving nerds. Anyways, best of luck and I hope you find what you're looking for. online dating is kind of a waste of time I agree. It's hard to meet find people on sites like this who aren't insane or who can hold a decent conversation. Trying to talk to some folk around here really makes a person wonder "why do I even bother with these people?"

as a guy your screwed because even when you find a girl 9/10 chance anything you say or do will seem creepy as shit. Hey I saw you over here and I thought you looked kinda cute. BAM now she is like this creep has been staring at me BOOM fear hits her making her wonder if she did anything weird while you were looking. now you both feel like creeps. anyways devolving back to the main point most areas have a local fair as well Malls and Book stores however malls are kinda dead thanks to amazon.

Bookstores are only really good for the teenage crowd (Not many adults browse thru manga.) and clubs or groups that deal with anime are basically the same. If I were you, I'd just not focus on the liking anime aspect. Besides, you'd be surprised how many people like or will like anime once you just start showing them a few here or there, instead of trying to go for the people who are obviously into it. Good luck.

As for everyday places, a lot of people mentioned the good spots. Bookstores, arcades, comic shops, card shops, etc. Maybe even places like Hot Topic in the mall, but as mentioned above, they are probably going to attract the teenage/high school crowd. Great if you're younger, but a lot of people are north of 20 on here and it's not so easy to date someone younger like that. My best experiences have been with anime clubs at local universities and at conventions in general. Like with any public place, you do have to put yourself out there a little bit and actually talk to people around you, but at least you're around people with similar interests and it's a bit easier to break the ice there.
