Why is Random Chatter so big and what makes a thread blow up here?

What are your opinions on this? This section Random Chatter has not only the largest topic threads of any category but is the most frequently and consistently visited part of the site. Why is that? Share your thoughts.

Except the biggest threads were started by guys? I think it's because there's no set topic, makes it easier for people to talk about whatever.

All the serious things are fine, but people also want to just relax and not think about what and how they will reply to a post. The random chatter is informal and easier to make friends with. Nobody can't be serious all the time. Besides, it keeps the boredom away

People here act like socially awkward children(I'm one too.). Other than that, most conversations in real life are about random crap that you'll forget about ten minutes later. People like what seems easy and doing a lazy meme or just bullshitting is pretty easy. Most people don't like risks and putting yourself out there counts doubly so. Not to mention, it gets pretty tiring being serious all the time. Although, I like deep and personal conversations.
