What are your opinions on this? This section Random Chatter has not only the largest topic threads of any category but is the most frequently and consistently visited part of the site. Why is that? Share your thoughts.

Except the biggest threads were started by guys? I think it's because there's no set topic, makes it easier for people to talk about whatever.

I agree with Leeks. Most people want to have a casual chat and these threads fit the bill.

All the serious things are fine, but people also want to just relax and not think about what and how they will reply to a post. The random chatter is informal and easier to make friends with. Nobody can't be serious all the time. Besides, it keeps the boredom away
