Shoud I just leave MaiOtaku?

Hey everybody. It's been a long time since I was last on MO but just recently I've had this topic on my mind. Anyway, allow me to elaborate. I've dabbled in a few dating sites in the past and haven't gotten anywhere with them. Although there was one site where I got a ton of messages off women who weren't what I'm looking for. Basically, they weren't anime fans or gamers pretty much so I felt they were incompatible. Anyway, I've gotten to the point where I simply don't trust dating websites any more and have actually left a lot of them. I just don't think online dating is what people make them out to be (looking at you Match.com and Elite Singles ads). Plus my broadband blocks dating sites until 9pm so I can't get on MO during the day. I think it'd be better to try and ask out a girl face to face. I've met a few women and cons I've been to this year that could be potential girlfriends so I could try my luck with them. If not, then there are plenty more fish in the sea as the old saying goes. But, I've made a lot of friends here, male and female, but I just don't know if I should stay or not.

I just randomly socialize here. Dating scene is tough anywhere. Worse for me since I'm old enough to be most girls dad on here. Also I'm into horror and heavy metal too. You know how hard it is to find a girl into anime, hentai, heavy metal, horror and is willing to date a guy probably twice her age? But it's not like I have anything better to do.

im going to be honest with ya bro. This is more a social community for Otakus. even if the site is advertised as dating. At its core it mostly a social site. so ya might want to turn down your expectations a bunch.
