I agree that people who have inheritance due to their ancestors having slaves is wrong, but there is nothing we can do to change that. What happened happened. I wish it could have been different. Despite looking whiter than the average person half my family tree is Native American. To be more exact Cherokee and Blackfoot. I don't want to compare the tragedies of the trail of tears to slavery, but in the U.S. at least we can move past it and work together despite bigotry and make this world a better place. *Cue the magical rose petals, double rainbow, and doves*
Now with all humor aside there are still major problems with racism in this country. It is a hidden menace that rears it's ugly head when a situation arises. I am not sure how we can get rid of racism and the prospect of it when it comes to adults, but the best we can do is to teach children not to judge other people differently based on how they look. Better parenting can fix this.
The other countries are a different story. It is up to the citizens there to change their situation.
To interfere in their problem is like an outsider coming into your life and telling you what to do and how to do it. It might work for some people, but not all.

Wanna get rid of racism and bigotry? Be the Beacon that even just a few seek to emulate, I have a very good friend/my best man whom I categorize as such. Want justice? Be just. However, I know I have tendencies to be idiotic in my own mind in bigoted ways at times. I'll admit I can be a hypocrite internally and only internally, with such matters. At the end of it all, we all came from the same place, we ALL can even be linked to one woman in Africa via mitochondrial DNA and that makes us or should make us equal as a species. Buuuuut, I'm sure that simplifies the entire situation for some. Also, when I get some time, I'll watch the video and comment on it.

Also, i disagree. I think there IS something we can do besides simply "deal". And that's what I'm trying to figure out.

Go for it! Let me know if anything comes to your mind. It is a hard problem to find a situation to.
Whereabouts? Like in tribe location. For the black foot tribe. My grandfather's side was blackfoot, but I never talked to him too much about our heritage and where they came from specifically. He passed 2008 when I was 12 or 11 at the time so I wish I knew better.
Cherokee however my Great Grandmother was adopted by Russians, but if I remember right she was from like North East Texas. EDIT: Just confirmed that she was from Oklahoma, and not East Texas. Her cousin was the Olympian athlete Jim Thorpe if you know who that is. You can look him up. He was Cherokee Fox Sac nation. And he is a direct relative of the chief.
Other than that info I have not been told much. I would love to dive into my ancestry one day and find out where exactly my roots come from.
