Thoughts on Fan Service

I meant the narrative If its not jarring, then I'm fine As long as it doesn't take me out of the story

I'm okay with it as long as it doesn't distract from the overall story and tonality of the show. So, mixed opinions I guess.

Holy shit that was a delay in responses from when I initially asked this question. Let's see. @Illuminous, I never heard of that one. @Naomi, I think that is what most of these series go for, more of a bonus. @PrincessRozu, I don't think the people who put fanservice in anime are going for realism. @Smile Away, No it doesn't it. It reminds me of grindhouse films of the 70s, except not the main selling point. @Edge Lord, Care to give examples of good/bad service in specific series and characters? @Kawaii, I see, it's better when there is some uniqueness to it. @Solid Snake, Yeah I heard FairyTail was one of the more notoriously indulgent ones when it came to fan-servicing its audience. @Jmac, mostly how I feel but again I would say "indifferent" rather okay, until it becomes excessive or over the top, then it becomes obnoxious.

I dont mind it, fan service in animes like ouran and stuff annoys me only since i know ill never achieve that beauty.... So yea salt and then ones like food wars i cant help but to feel that fan service is ALMOST justified because they wanna express with major emotions how that food taste to them which hey i wanna eat food that makes me feel that way !!! But other then that idk its like action fan service you expect in animes now
