Kichi,
I mean no disrespect, but I hold relationships, including friendships in high regard and as such I must ask how am I a friend?
I treat all the same. But as for what they are to me? That's an entirely different story. A brother or sister, I know you are thicker than even blood, for even blood runs. A fellow human? Nothing special, but still worthy of basic respect all the same.
Sorry to come across as serious, I just don't take terms like "friend" lightly. I suppose that's why I can count the number of friends that I've had during my life, on one hand.

"Blood of the Covenant is thicker than the water from the womb"
not simply "Blood is thicker than water"
I get what you mean, Yaass

Side note - Yaass has an excellent point. There are levels to this because a friendship is still a relationship and can grow or weaken over time. I, personally, don't have many true/best friends but I do have a lot of people I consider a friend. I know that if I was contemplating suicide, I have at least 20 people I can call to help me out. Grant it, I never do, but that's not the point. I also know that I have some friends that I would never call in an emergency cause they're not that TYPE of friend. I have drinking buddies, club partners, gamer friends and so forth. Not every person you meet and call a friend is gonna be your best friend that you can confide in and tell everything to. Some friends you know you shouldn't call if you wanna go to a party cause they're not big on parties or big crowds but doesn't mind a movie on a Tuesday.

I just mean to say, I mean no offense when I find it hard to call someone a friend. Confidants are easy enough to come by. I've always found friends to be rather hard. The term friend means more to me than "acquaintance" or "buddy". If you are a friend, I look up to you as an inspiration and I know I can confide in you probably more (sadly) than my own blood. I love my family, would take a bullet for any of them, but even so I don't feel that close to them. Those few whom I've called a friend, we argue, we fight and we grow(And unfortunately, some most certainly grew apart). I do have a line that my friend kind of crossed a couple years back and we talked about that last night. My line is this, do not say a damn thing about the woman I love, unless it pertains to growth or lack thereof(abuse is counted in "lack thereof").
Also, I feel like this is becoming a better use of the thread.

I don't know what I look for in friends. I still find it funny to how I made most of my friends. It was just natural to be around them I guess. XD

Hood,
That's usually how it goes. I never "looked" for friends, they just happened.
