I'm walking to work as usual and I cut across a yard for the billionth time since there's no sidewalk nor any reason for me not to. Do note that I have my headphones on blasting music & a tablet in my hand with a water bottle.
As I get close to the edge of the field, I notice to my right someone walking towards me. I didn't know who he was nor what he was trying to do/say so I take my headphones off to hear.
The first sentence I hear from this guy is "What are you doing on my house, boy?" The guy is pretty much arms length from me getting aggressive & blocking my path to work. When I heard him say that, I rolled my eyes and try to walk around him. He wouldn't let me. He pretty much blocked me to ask rhetorical questions and I'm trying to be respectful.
"What are you talking about? I didn't walk in anyone's house."
"You're on my house right now"
"Right now?" I turn around, looking at an open field. "What house? Is this your PROPERTY?"
"No, BOY, I said why you on my house?"
So now, after the second 'boy' I'm ready to rip this guys throat out but I'm late for work and I'm really not tryin to go to jail but he won't let me leave. So I put my stuff down and I tell him to his face "If you do not move out of my way, I'm going to move you out of my way. The choice is yours."
He does some old, 1970's push (used 2 fingers to push my shoulder) and after that, I'm like fuck it. I grab dude, step back about 3 or 4 feet, flip & pin him to the ground, push him away, grab my stuff and continue my way to work.
For whatever the reason, after getting back up the guy goes, "Nigger, you'd be in jail for that." Instead of turning around and kicking him in the face, I take a deep breath and continue to walk to work.
This is the second time within 3 months someone thought that they could put their hands on me or push me and I wouldn't do anything. Kinda getting tired of having to prove to idiot racists that I'm not the one to play with. I've taken muay thai and tai kwon do and even boxing for a lil while. I know multiple ways in bringing someone to their knees or their grave, if ever necessary. Why? Why fuck with me? And I'm sure even tho I was technically in the right, if the cops were called, I would've been arrested. That's just how it is in NJ.
Anyone else having to deal with bigots on a regular basis or am I the lure for these fucktards?

Sorry to hear it went down that way, but if he doesn't want people cutting through his yard that's his prerogative.
Go around from now on, avoid the bullshit. Get to work and make that sweet money.

^^^ I knew someone would say that.
Look. I get how people like to avoid problems and confrontation, but if you go up to someone and demand respect from them without giving/showing any up front, you're not gonna go far with me.
#1) it's NOT HIS PROPERTY! It belongs to the church. Also, there's no fence, sign, nothing and without that field, I have to walk in the street since there's no sidewalk. I'm not gonna risk getting hit by a car so I can make that guy happy I'm not walking on 'holy ground' or whatever he feels it is. I'm going to cut across that field. I've been walking, using the same path for years and now all of a sudden it's a problem? GTFO.

I'm sorry, Gudmoore. I know you were only putting your 2 cents in and I jumped at you. my b.
It's just really frustrating to me. Why do I have to change my lifestyle again because someone else is upset over where I walk? Even if I was walking on their property, what kind of man gets up and attacks the "trespasser" who is literally 2 feet from getting off said property? I mean, if he really wanted me off his property, he would've LET ME CONTINUE TO WALK and then say, "Hey, that's my property, stay off it." That would've been fine. But getting all in my face and pushing me, looking for trouble is bullshit. When you poke a beehive, no one but you cry when you get stung. So why is it when you push & poke a person, you're surprised when they "sting" you? Now, I know I can piss him off in many ways, but I'm not that petty... well, actually I am, I'm just not gonna do it with him.
Anyway, long story shot, my b for snapping Gud. And if walking across a yard that you don't own piss you off, good.

Why are they that way? Look at it from a perspective of why the person did so and so action.
Sure that person did something that you find offensive and from our standards you are in the right.
Set yourself as a example to others around you, like when you decided not to kick him down further only in self defense. I find one of the best ways to disprove a persons thoughts about you is to show it via actions. If that is it means that much to you to disprove,
You play right into what they are looking for otherwise,

Also yeah, I do try to keep it a buck but the thing is people out here think that they're untouchable. People really think that you can say whatever you want (freedom of speech) and if you do anything, you're in trouble cause I can call the cops and blah blah blah. Well, I study law. I know that if anyone even approaches me with the intent to threaten me I have every right to defend myself. Some idiots think that hitting someone first means you're in trouble when that's not the case. If you feel scared, you can defend yourself. Look at the whole Trevon Martin case. As bullshit as that was, because GZ "felt threatened" even tho he started it, he wasn't punished for what he did, even tho he started it. I guess that's what that guy was trying to do but failed. I don't think he was prepared for me. And now, if I see him again, I have no clue what's gonna happen. What I REALLY wanna do is go over there and see if we can get a mutual understanding but I don't know how to even approach this

I think that was just poor wording. I think Yu was just getting at "be the better man". Thing is, you were. He(not yu... No confusion) was just being a dip shit and tried to provoke you, which kind of worked. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about idiots, the world is FULL of them, all you can do is try your best to avoid them and honestly, I'd say you did a pretty good job not losing your shit on a guy like that. By the way, just to play devil's advocate, church property is private property.

That makes me so sad. Honestly. This doesn't need to happen at all yet it happens all the time. Literally no reason for this to happen. I hope it doesn't happen to you again, I'm really sorry.

Alright it seems my post vanished, I was talking about racial prejudice in the US and how depending on your area you're likely a target for discrimination. In other countries it can end up being the opposite where people are punished for discriminating against people of colour because social correctness is completely unbalanced. As long as you know how to defend yourself it's mostly fine (naturally unless extremists utilise weapons), racism is still very real depending on where you live and some people have been hardwired since birth to be biased, there's not much you can do to convince them otherwise which is a major shame, nowadays mankind's biggest flaw is it's inability to change opinions without feeling shame for being wrong, instead people would rather delude themselves further with their false-truths and embrace their ignorance as fact.
Keep being you, don't let peoples actions such as his against you forge a mutual feeling of disgust, as they are just misguided and ignorant people who seek conflict for nothing more then to make themselves feel superior. I'm sure you don't care about it and can just brush it off which makes you a bigger man then most.
Best bet is to avoid their property, last thing you want is a self defence claim on you "trespassing".
