Remake/Alternate Versions Anime?

What are your opinion on "Remake/Alternate Versions Anime"? Do you take the risk in watching it even though you seen the original? Do you see the Remake/Alternate Versions first then the original if you haven't seen that anime? What are anime Remake/Alternate Versions? -taking basically the exact same story and doing it again with changes that can be shorter/longer length of a story line. EX: Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works Dragon Dall Z Kai Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

The only ones ive seen were Brotherhood and unlimited blade works. I didnt mind unlimited blade works since they were going by the visual novels. Stil, it was hard for me to start over like that, doesnt mean I didnt enjoy it. Brotherhood followed the manga. Even though the original didnt I liked that one better. Depends on what your into I guess. I took a very long time to start that one. Some of them dont have to follow the manga to be great, believe it or not, not everyone reads manga and visual novels. *Raises hand* very very few and random. I watch the originals first, well in Hellsings case I watched Ultimate first.

@Tri Tri <3: Yea, I saw both versions of Alchemist, and also liked the original. I'm about to start Unlimited Blade Works. I just finished rewatching "stay night" and "zero."

I was very reluctant to even start brotherhood. *I was like what is this bs, a rewrite? Im not giving iy the time of day* I think the real reason I was pissed off is that I was hyped up looking at trailer thinking it was another season. Then burst my bubble with the first episode and it wasnt -_-. Took me about another year an a half before I gave in and gave it a chance. There was nothing wrong with the original in my opinion and the movie followed along nicely. I love Fate/Zero XD probably more then I liked staynight. Would like an adaptation of heavens feel but meh I think its too dark.

Kanon was great.

I really loved Blood: the Last Vampire and so far, I've been really disappointed with all it's adaptions. I haven't seen Blood -C, yet, though. I'm pretty sure it won't live up to the original film. Also, fuck Sailor Moon Crystal, omg. Just. No. The worst.

I have mixed feelings. Dragon Ball Kai was a great way to condense the series down I thought; but at the same time I felt weird about the musical choices and the nostalgia made it hard to enjoy as much. All I've heard about Sailor Moon Crystal has been that it's really awful, but I've only watched the first 20-odd episodes of the original and whatever random dub episodes my aunts forced me to watch when they'd babysit me and it was on TV. I don't know how I'd feel about the remake, but from the little I've seen in previews the animation looks oddly worse. I want to watch Brotherhood at some point, as I was actually reading the manga as the show was airing in Japan for the first time, and back then I wasn't fond of the areas where they diverged.

Awe damn, just finished "Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works," way better the original FSN. Now that was worth watching. :D
