Let's Talk(Big and Small)

I am curious to what everyone thinks on this site. Do you prefer small talk(For Example: hey, how are you, what's up) or would you rather have more big talk( For example: What is your biggest dream, what do you want to do before you die). I personally have too much small talk and I begin too much small talk. How do you avoid it if you do and how do you start big talk, if you do ? Let's talk about that !

I feel you. I too would much rather have big talk, but I too often end up only making small talk because I don't know how to introduce more serious / deeper subjects.

I think it also had to do with chemistry between the two people who are talking. I've noticed it'd easier for me to talk to some people because of their personality.

I like to either engage in a really deep, heated discussion or just listen to other people talk about the same. I only engage in generic small talk out of politeness. If it's obvious that we have nothing in common, I end up internally wondering when the other person will cut to the part where we can stop talking so I can go do something else that will actually hold my attention... I know, I'm awful.
