I never got to meet my grandmother on my dad's side, she passed away from cancer sometime in the nineties though. Though my dad thinks the sickness was caused by stress and heartache from her life, she was born in the Jim Crow era and witnessed her friend get shot and killed by a racist white man when her and her friend wouldn't accept his advancements ('flirting') on them. She was only 12-13 at the time and had a bullet stuck in her hand all her life due to not being able to receive medical aid. She sounded like a great woman though! Apparently our mom is the white version of her according to our dad XD.

A boy often times tries to find his mother in his partner. We tend to seek that familiar comfort, that warmth which brings us home and holds us in a loving embrace. We are nothing without the strength and heart of our partner. At least, not once we meet that part we never knew we were missing. So, it sounds like your dad got rather lucky to find yet another woman as strong as his mother.

@yaasshat Not just lucky, blessed ^^. His mom was his biggest cheerleader in life and when his mom passed, our mom became that for him too. The beautiful thing is that before his mom passed away, she actually told him to marry our mom after seeing her in passing when he went to college, he said that she said that our mom was his wife and he'd do well to marry a woman like her. He definitely did well, cause he married her and had six kids with her XD, while another six are with Jesus now.

Six?! Your dad is keeping busy.lol I can hardly find the time with two.lol

@yaasshat Yup! He came from a large family too! I am the fifth youngest sibling in my family (one of the babies) and then it's the actual baby who is six years younger than me. Though I think the age gap is cause our mom had two miscarriages before him. But I love being with my family! I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world.

I mean, my dad came from a family of nine siblings , but it's just me my brother and sister for him and evidently I was a happy little accident(They didn't want another, but I was a strong swimmer, kinda like my daughter of which of I'd absolutely die for.lol).lol Some are just built to handle a large family.lol

@yaasshat That sounds like fun! XD I sometimes love imagining what it would be like if the other six were born. I forgot how many siblings my dad had/has? But I think he comes from 9 in total too. And I'm glad you have graced the world with yourself, or else I wouldn't have such nice conversations with you. Yeah, I guess so? It also helped that our mom knew she wanted to be a mother since she was small, she originally wanted to have 15 kids in total if she could, but the LORD only permitted six. She's grateful for us though, but she never realizes just how grateful we are of her and our father XD. I guess you can't convince parents that they are better than their kid(s)?

Nope nope nooooope. Fifteen?!lol My sanity could maybe deal with three, but is quite content with the two I have.lol

@yaasshat Yes! Fifteen! XD It's fine, people are given as much as they can handle, and your two kids are very beautiful I'm sure ^^. Glad that you are content with them. And I always thought I'd have a big family too if I had kids. It's something I've thought about too much lol, but I think it'd be nice to have big family ^^. Speaking of though, how have you and your family been? I bet you are one tired papa.

Four hours of sleep a night for going on two years and that's on a good night. Soooo... Sleepy is the norm.lol Kids are rambunctious and my son is currently doing his normal routine of trying to beg his mom to go to her place. I can only imagine it with six.lol Some people are just built different.lol
