Random thoughts...

There was a hilarious scene of a bunch of white people celebrating Indigenous heritage day at my work. It looked more like Woodstock in the 60's with all the hippies running around. I'll be frank. If you're less than 10% of a culture group and have little knowledge about said group then going out saying you represent such ethnicity is disingenuous to the culture. More to the point, when I see a food truck with a cartoon "Indian" on it ran by a blond hair blue eyed person serving hot dogs and hamburgers as "traditional" native cuisine I'm likely to laugh while making sarcastic remarks. https://i.ani.me/0338/7334/grey.jpg These are the same white hippie people that demanded the Washington Redskins be renamed to Commanders for racial appropriation. However it's fine to appropriate it to sell merch if it's for a "good" cause. https://i.ani.me/0338/7334/grey.jpg At this point I'm yelling at the wind and I know real indigenous folks are commenting to me "first time noticing the hypocrisy?" https://i.ani.me/0338/7334/grey.jpg All this to say if anyone wants to learn about another culture the literature is there and one doesn't have to put on false pretenses to appreciate the historical contribution of a marginalized group. https://i.ani.me/0338/7334/grey.jpg Also stop wearing paisley patterns with bohemian shirts and calling it Indian cause it ain't.

I used to hate tempservices but now they've actually helped me out a bit. Got a interview monday for a contract gig in case the other one falls through.
