Is it worse to be a meek dormat or a conceited blowhard?

Both extremes suck in their own way really. I have learned it is better to err toward the side of being a bit of a bastard, you get way more respect and dates....honest truth.

Darku has a point. Why do you think shy, nice doormats flock here to a dating site? Because when it comes to gaining the attention and affection of a girl, they can't compete with the arrogant guy. I know a guy who has as part of his tinder bio, and I quote, "I'm kinda hot" and "I have a sexy Russian accent" and the dude legit had over 110 matches...

Im pretty much my own person but if I had to pick I would say humble I have forsaken my own self and caused pain to me in order to help my close friends before I don't really care if I go through pain but I don't want the ones I care about to feel the same pain I do. To be honest im numb to pain at this point I don't really care about it. But its for this reason that I am watching over my group with two other people with their head on their shoulders so far any type of drama that has happened in the group has been resolved its only went on for a year but I know its not going to die any time soon the connections we have made have become to strong.

@Izumi25X - There is a balance between the two extremes and it varies from person to person where that sweet spot lies vs the eye of the beholder. There is a line between confidence and arrogance and depends on context of the observer. I work with some very powerful and successful people, if you did not know them personally you would think they were total jerks. Honest truth, to fight for yourself means you have to not be nice sometimes even if you hate doing it. It is not out of sadistic pleasure or hate it is just the business of managing your life as you are solely responsible for your own happiness/success. You have to remember everyone in this world will usually act in their own self interest first even if they do not realize it; it's human nature. They may even do things at your expense so always fight for yourself, set boundaries, and keep them with absolute integrity.

Conceited blowhards probably have more success in relationships just because they seem more out-going. Meek doormats aren't nearly as appealing, at least for relationships.
