Is it worse to be too easy/attainable or too picky/unattainable?

To me it's not as important as some other things. It's a give an take thing really. For instance, if you aren't attracted to someone physically but are in every other sense, you can acclimate to their looks over time. Like if you play the either or game... I would rather be with someone that is CLEAN rather than handsome. I would rather be with someone that is funny than handsome. I would rather be with someone that is smart rather than handsome. Those things are important to me which is why I think physical attractiveness varies so much from person to person. Physical attraction I think plays a more important role when you are looking for someone to fuck and less of a role when you are looking for a relationship just because you can get used to the way a person looks over time.

Yes but when looks are what get you in the door, because they are the first thing you notice, then it doesn't really matter much does it? If two clean, nice, funny people approach you but one is physically attractive to you while the other is not then it's not a hard choice. Being handsome does not exclude other traits. Conversely, a lot of people are prone to the Halo effect and see physically attractive people as being funnier, more intelligent, and just "better". They are often treated nicer (I can tell you from experience this is true) and given more compliments and general attention. They are also more likely to be given jobs and raises. Looks might not overtake substance. A shitty person is a shitty person. But if you take two good people and one is more attractive than the other, then that person will have a much easier time finding relationships. So looks aren't AS important. But they do matter.

Oh no I agree with everything you said. I'm just saying if a person is beautiful and that's all they have going for them, they aren't the person for me. It's just not one of the first things I look for in a relationship because everything else matters so much more.
