Can't blame you. I don't smoke, but a few times I thought about starting the habit because of hardships like these. When my father had his heart attack earlier this year all I could do was give my faith in Christ. The doctor told me the man had only a 25% chance of walking off the table. His heart muscle was weak and barely able to pump. He had fluid swelling in his legs and chest. My mother was on her knees that day. Not to pray, but fearing what her life was going to be like without him. And all I knew to say was, "Jesus, if it be your will, let my father live. Even if it should not come to pass then I shall accept your judgement. Thank you for helping us to make it this far even though we didn't deserve your help. I place my trust in you, Lord." Glory be my father survived the surgery and has stayed on his feet for another year. To add to the miracle Christ was kind enough to provide the financial means to pay back the hospital bills too. God is forever by our side, amen. As a fellow Christian I'm confident you're also taking solace within His Grace.
