I'm looking for some new anime to watch. Stuff I've seen to give an idea what to help with suggestions: Girls und Panzer, Strike Witches, Jin-Roh, VOTOMS, pretty much every Gundam, Macross, Patlabor, GitS, and KanColle.

Have to try Psycho Pass. I'm wary of Gate because it seems to be more waifu smorgasboard than military action. I might be surprised by it though.

A few that come to mind would be Zipang, Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu, Full Metal Panic, Dominion Tank Police, Senjou no Valkyria, and Appleseed.

You've got good tastes Briare, here are my suggestions: Akira, Monster(Has a lot to do with underground Military projects, ect. Really mature story), Genocyber(Might take a deep breath to fully grasp), Berzerk is a great portrayal of classical military engagements, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Blue Gender. Sadly Anime on the caliber of Mobile Suit Gundam, Jin Roh, and GITS is fading, but those listed about are on that caliber!

I Can't watch the majority of Anime that do with Military situations, Some i can and are good for entertainment value, but majority of the time i cringe because either Ranks are poorly represented or other things that a ex-military might find cringe-worthy, but i'm really enjoying Ghost in the Shell lately. I'm the type of viewer that questions everything in terms of tactics and structure, But it's all for entertainment, so i let it pass. Now if this was a holly-wood movie.... Grrr.
