Anyone want to be a magical girl?/boy?

ikemo
Sometimes when I'm walking down the street, with my music on I picture pulling out a wand from thin air and going through the transformation sequence. Along-side being able to have a cool transformation I think about all the lives I cross during my day, when I see their faces, sometimes they look as though they are about to cry! and it reminds me, sometimes people walk the streets with sadness in their hearts... This can be due to many reasons, reasons that we don't all know when we walk towards them. I know its important for us all to feel the sadness when it comes but what I would want is the ability to help others have the strength to at least swallow the bitter taste of their sadness, not feel like throwing their hearts up. You know?

Hehe, I've been thinking about writing a light novel series about a teem of magic girls crossing over with a sentai squad in their mutual quest to defend the city from two very different sets of enemies, so I've been researching the topic for a while. And the answer is yes. Being a mahou shonen would be pretty darn awesome. Even if I end up looking like Ayamu from "Kore wa Zombie desu ka?", I'd find some way to make those frills work in exchange for badass occult powers of love, friendship, and passionate aspirations. And I fully empathize with you regarding those who harbor despair and discontent that I either shouldn't, or simply can't help with. Indeed, pain is an opportunity for growth, but to those who are less familiar in navigating it (Being most people, considering its not exactly taught in western minded societies), Its easy to slide into a perpetual cycle of turmoil, and deem yourself "Broken", "Bitter", or "Jaded". Its just like... Kind of a waste. And I don't mean to devalue anyone's struggles, victim blame, or imply the responsibilities of every scar you have ever bared is solely your responsibility. Because bad things happen to good people all the time. Life will chew you up and spit out the remains. And yet, life also keeps the band aids and the home made remedies on a high pantry shelf, expecting you to developed the skills to figure out how to get up to them yourself, or forge connections with individuals who are willing to create a human ladder with you... I hope that analogy makes some sort of sense. And if I had the power to lower the medical kit of life just a few steps lower, or at the very least fill up the hole they dug to get further away from life in hopes of eventually hoping the pieces they perceive to be broken will at least be numb, then damn it, give me my frilly pink skirt and sexy transformation sequence. It'd be worth the blow to whatever ego remains.

My gosh I love your response to this! You have a great sense of humor, which is an amazing talent! makes people smile, in a way, you do have a power~! it's wonderful to come across those who actually hold an understanding about the world and at the same time still want to make things better themselves, really amazing.

Oh gosh, where's the blush button again? I'm glad you enjoyed it though, my humor is usually hit or miss. And these are serious thoughts I stress about a lot, since when I actually try to explain the healing process to people, I might as well be speaking fluent gaelic. But it is counter intuitive, so who could honestly blame anyone who regularly lives in struggle. They hear advice from people who think they know better all the time. So I really am being serious when I say I don't care if I have to become a magical tranny if it means being granted the spells to help relieve, strength, and support people who have been put through enough. Because most of the time, words just don't cut it. But the feeling is mutual, Kemo. I always appreciate crossing paths with people like you. ^__^

In response to this thread I activate https://40.media.tumblr.com/c1a0db0f6bf7f11804e3114e28ef401c/tumblr_o1tyb0yzfm1uielwlo1_500.jpg Reading the first sentence of the OP to the remaining content (of the first post) was a total plot twist I did not see coming. Sets up the swing of emotions pretty well since it starts off with something humorous and goes straight into a feel-a-coaster. And for you Chocopyro I think you may need this card laying around for future reference. https://40.media.tumblr.com/c6039ab8cf21a57913f892ffa40016a0/tumblr_o1tyvyHokF1uielwlo1_500.jpg It may not be a button but I got pretty close. For what it's worth I created this one and added it to my deck because of your above post :).

I used to watch Shugo Chara/Tokyo Mew Mew/Princess Tutu/Pretear when I was 11-13 and hell did I envy them all. But not anymore to be honest... I grew out of it seemingly.

I agree with you, Kemo. Just being friendly can make a difference in how people feel. It happened to me just today. I was walking in my neighborhood, and was passing an older woman getting out of her car. She turned to me and said, "Hello there. How are you today?" I said I was doing good, and she replied, "Well it's always a good thing to be good." :) We should try more to be like these kinds of people, because that sure brightened my day. I'm a little shy, but I want to get back into doing community service soon. Habitat for Humanity and the local Parish Outreach are a couple places I've volunteered at. I did a thread not too long ago trying to help "otaku" see the good in themselves. I go through a good amount of suffering in my personal life, but I know my friends do as well. I was just discussing with a friend that suffering is a part of life, but we have to make the best of it and try to focus on the positives in our lives. She mentioned that one of those things was talking with me and her boyfriend. We don't have to have magical powers to help sad people. There is power in even the simplest of kind words and actions. On the not-so-serious side, sure! I'd love to have powers. One of my fav animes is Chuunibyou, so just call me Dark Flame Master. ^.^
