Quick gripe about Assassins' Creed
Assassins' Creed Odyssey takes place during the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta. You travel all around Greece and the Mediterranean Sea and any location will have a set of missions to help the various citizens, politicians, or military persons turn the tide of war in that location. At first I wasn't sure who to side or if I should just pass these missions by like you can in Skyrim and just do the war towards the end. I put it off and just thought oh man the game will eventually reveal or suggest the consequences so I just rolled with it. The thing with the hero on this AC is that they are mercenaries. Whatever they do, they do for pay and I guess if you want to skip missions where you kill, you can, but this isn't Hey Let's Not Kill That Guy Over There Creed, it's Asassin's Creed. So long as you either survive or pay off the bounties on your head, this game has no limitations. Which brings me to a weakness I have noticed in these games. Specifically this one and Origins I noticed a morality problem on some aspects. The Assassins' are supposed to be heroes of humanity. The typical storyline is they were there to keep the world going, to keep power out if evil's hands, to give humanity a fighting chance. But Origins has you question if you should be killing certain animals. The animals give you resources to upgrade your equipment but they give you a couple of missions where you are to help or save crocodiles. Does that mean I no longer kill crocs? Oh, then see there is a mission to kill the alpha crocodile in the nest in a specific area. It's stupid but it's an annoying inconsistency. In this one you aren't sure if you should help Athens or Sparta... guess what? Turns out it doesn't matter. And after playing it for as long as I have, I also see now that to progress the game you kinda have to do these missions if you want to be able to level up. I love these games. They do a lot of work to make them as realistic as possible and have so much historical information in them. But these type of game dynamics bug me.

All it took was a few guides on Youtube to slap this all together... and a lot of caffeine to survive the more tedious portions...

Getting back into FF16... Great overall, but the graphics are disappointing. Waaaaaay too many areas look like what you'd typically see in a PS4 game, and some areas almost look like a PS3 game...

Picked up the Soulcalibur games for the first time in a while. God, I'm rusty. Now that I'm more interested in story than gameplay, instead of just beating ass in online matches as Raphael. I learned to really like Mitsurugi. He's awesome.
