This is just general talk about the festive holidays, I was thinking about Christmas as a holiday dose anyone else find it curious that we tell children a story about Santa instead just saying we (parent) gave them the present. As in fact there was a person name saint Nick how help the poor and through the years we carry on the tradition by giving presents. What my point is it sound more amazing to say we give to others because we care just like that saint Nick.

I've never quite understood it either to be honest. The lengths parents go to maintain the fantasy is quite funny too. I've got a fond memory of being at the top of the stairs with my mum dad and brother, we were about to go down to unwrap presents. I said to my mum "I hope Santa filled the stockings with sweets". She turned to my dad and said "damn we forgot to fill the stockings!" I said "what?" She replied with "ermm... I mean.. we forgot to tell Santa we had stockings this year."

My parents never tried to tell my brother and I that ALL our presents were from Santa. We had our presents from them and other family then we had one gift each that was from Santa on Christmas morning. I thought it was fun to have a sense of wonder and magic as a child. And you know, I don't really recall really believing in Santa, it was always far fetched. However, it was fun to pretend.

I would tell my future kid about the legend of Santa. St. Nick did exist in the past and he was a generous man until the day he died. I'd use the story to tell the incredible importance of giving. Wanting to give to others is quite possibly the most important thing you can pass down to a child. The spirit of caring that st. Nick had can live on in all of us.

I like holidays a bit, I mean theyre days scheduled to spread cheer & give gifts so it's either a hassle or a good thing. I heard most suicides happen around the holidays so it must have a profound effect on people.
Here is a picture of me tormenting my bunny with holiday pictures!
