Rate Limiting Account Deactivations

elder_reaper
Sephiroth I notice people posting and deactivating their accounts when offline. I think this is an easy way for people to fire off harassment and insults at people then deactivate. I would strongly suggest institution of a rate limit. Where you can only reactivate every 7 days, this would eliminate this behavior.

I agree - I also think all accounts should be tracked as to prevent new fake accounts from being created by the same user harassing people with multiple accounts. http://maiotaku.com/mytopics/331/mytopics/26185

He already IP blocks. Maybe include scripts to prevent multiple accounts being created by the same IP - will stop the amateurs.

Oh ok I wasn't aware. Hopefully your idea happens cause yea - I had information about me on my page but now I don't feel like I should because of all the harassment I've been receiving.

Don't worry about non-identifying info, but email, name, exact location, number etc... yeah don't post that stuff. If people are harassing you though, you can talk to Sephiroth, the main guy here. Don't demand they be banned, just say 'I'm having an issue with such and such users, see examples here here and here. Can you assist me with recourse for these people's actions?' I got a few fuckers banned who were really bad. Bryan Dacote (Bryan Sheehan)/Cybermephiles/IDGAF being one of them. Eventually motherfucker left the site, because I doxxed him and scared the fuck out of him. I'm sufficiently good at playing the counterharassment game.

Wow you did that? That's awesome. I recognize the names but can't remember them. I've been on here for a while. The suggestion you mentioned is really useful - Yea I was kinda hasty typing that all out.

Everyone always acts like posting personal information online is no big deal till it bites them in the ass.
