How to Cope With Being Single?

last night i was thinking too much about negative stuff again but today im drinking some beer till tomorrow comes again

I feel that way constantly everyday and somedays it is hard to cope. But I just try to find new things to do and try out. A new hobby, friend or something. I keep my life going even if I feel like giving up.

Don't COPE with being single. Embrace it, do what you can to enjoy it. "Getting out" doesn't mean to meet people. Just go out and do things, maybe something you've never done. Work on just having fun for a day or two, so you can show yourself that being single isn't a punishment. It's a gift, a break, a chance to take time to yourself and rediscover who you are and what you love to do. Yeah, it hurts when you're newly single when you didn't want to be. But you need to just keep hammering it into your head that, "there will be more". Learn to control events like these so instead of closing doors on your life, they open new ones. You can't always decide what happens in life, but you have FULL control over how you allow yourself to react. Take a deep breath and smile. And say to yourself, "I'm important to ME."

I've been single for the last 3 1/2 years by choice. After some self evaluation, I realized the reason none of my past relationships really "worked" was because for one, I was choosing incorrectly. I was dating people that love to suck the life out of you, make themselves feel better and leave. Two: I needed to love myself and spend more time with myself.. you know, realize what real love is. Do I feel lonely? Sometimes, but, I have books. In all honesty, after reading what you posted, it seems that some self love may do some good? Even if little by little.

I feel exactly the same way, I've actually never had a girlfriend and I've never been on a date before so lately I've been kinda depressed. Sometimes I feel like I'll never find someone. But i know that one day I'll find the one I'm looking for. I hope. ;-;
