I can see you're coming from a good place, but you just lost the argument when you said people should kill themselves because they don't agree with you. There's nothing left to say.

I said ignorant, closed-minded Conservative Christians should kill themselves because they obstruct progress. They're like the Church in the Middle Ages. And they believe my kind, atheists and Middle Eastern people, should die because they associate atheism with Communism and take Deuteronomy as law, and Middle Eastern people because of 9/11 which is far from the worst tragedy in the US and is simply a scapegoat to incite the Iraq and Afghan wars.

The point I've been trying to make is, after having people tell you more than once that you're a Communist traitor - for being ATHEIST of all things, and that you should die and go to hell for apostasy, you only get but so much patience with those kinds of people. Put it this way - one time someone said that to me, I basically insulted his entire family and told him that he should fucking shoot himself in the head because he's a terrible ugly person for saying that shit.

@Elder_Reaper: And those people are wrong, they aren't putting their beliefs into practice. I'm a somewhat unorthodox Christian myself, but I don't consider you ANY of those things. You have your own beliefs, I have mine. I will NEVER hate you for what you believe, and I will NEVER wish death or an ill life on you for those beliefs either. I have and always will wish better for everyone else, even if my words seem harsh. I, just as you, don't want anyone to be left helpless, injured or hungry. We just go about it different ways. I want to light fires under the asses of the despaired, where you want to show them understanding and compassion. Both ways are correct. The world needs people with your compassion just as it needs people with my toughness. Together we are balanced, unbalanced we are destined for destruction.

I'm actually not for handouts with welfare. I just don't want so much bureaucracy that it costs $10 to give the needy a dollar. We need to simplify the system, reduce the amount of bureaucracy and find an effective way to deal with fraud. I personally think cuts to benefits could be done as well. A woman with 4 kids does not need more than $700/month on ebt.I know people who get $1000/month from ebt and get nothing but junk food and steaks and crab legs etc. I'm not even for socialised medicine, but in the US any attempt to reduce the cost of medical care so people can go without insurance is not gonna happen. So I have to make compromises to my beliefs. I can't vote for a mainstream Republican simply because they won't uphold my personal freedoms.
