@donnie: Mmm... I always make sure that the pants are dark and colour-neutral, which is why a lot of them are grey or black. You can also match earthy tones with other similar ones, like how a pastel green can go with a black pants and a dark-brown belt. That or you buy everything monochrome so you don't have to worry about colours.

Monochrome sounds like the easier answer but I might appreciate it more if I tried to go for variety and actually pull it off somehow.

I like monochrome colors the best. They look good in both genders and you can easily combine them with other colors like green, blue, red, etc.
