Why do females get welcomed and guys don't?

ryuto
Title ^ On the front page I noticed that the newest female otakus always get "hi welcome to the site" messages. When you click on new male member profiles nothing. Another thing I noticed is that most of the conversations are started by guys.

Which leads me to believe that we do more of the approaching here?

Umm I think you just completely the yandere person and manga bird... they're active female users x) and like mostly men ? Why not... I mean there's nothing wrong with being brave and saying hello... not our fault that majority of girls tend to be shy... but hey.. ain't that nice ? That's what makes em gals I mean

You mean this isn't common sense? Guys welcome women to introduce themselves, like arazno said guys view other guys in places like this as competition. Women might do it too just to be friendly because the competition isn't so bad for them, they're still gonna get dozens of guys hitting on them all the same and they know it. Guys are the ones starting conversations because women know they usually don't have to be the ones to do it and they like guys that take initiative anyway. Personally I don't really like to play those games and rather wait for them to come to me. That might not be the best tactic but it beats getting lost in a flood.

I don't know I don't get as many guys trying to get me just like other girls so, sometimes can be bad luck.
