Desperate people:
1.) overly clingy
2.) thinks a relationship is highest priority
2a.) too busy finding a relationship to focus on more important things like schooling or talents
3.) self-esteem is low
4.) falls in "love" too easily
5.) imagines a false image of their crush
5a.) shallow/superficial
6.) boring/not challenging

I've been around some desperate guys and honestly it's really annoying when someone is constantly trying to earn your favor.
A relationship shouldn't be forced it should be easy.

I think the clingy guys and girls should get together. The big thing seems to be for two people to have equal clingyness. Like sex drive, if it's disproportionate, it won't work. People are the way they are, a clingy person can't just pretend they aren't clingy and vice versa.

Because desperation usually means their standards are so low, they'll accept anything.
Low self-esteem, low ambitions, low chance of being able to establish a foundation to a relationship. In order for someone to care about someone else, they need to take care of themselves.

I completely agree with vampire_neko.. You need someone who understands that desperation you feel, someone who accepts you even when others might think of you as someone "pathetic". I've been on this site for a day or so and i've already noticed people think they're somehow better than me just because i'm in a shit situation right now. I was honestly expecting people to be more understanding. But to go back on-topic i just think it's because people think they're somehow better than miserable fucks like myself, or maybe they just despise those people for their "attention whoring" I personally introduced myself here almost begging for people to talk with me because i feel absolutely miserable and was hoping to meet someone who could make me feel better. so if that's what you call attention whoring then be my guest. I was merely seeking comfort or "help".

I would imagine that if somebody is desperate for a relationship, one could make a judgement that because they are so desperate, there is something off about them that prevents them from finding a suitable mate.
I recall a psychological experiment where a group of people had to interact with eachother. All but one of the group were told to ostricize one person, despite his looks. Interestingly enough the one person not in on it would ignore the other person too. This could be pretty much summed up with the statement,
"If nobody else wants you, why should I?" People consider the judgements of others as well as their own.

If someone is desperate I may get the impression that they have some personal issues that they need to get sorted out immediately. I can't be involved in that kind of stuff. If pursuing a relationship, I need it to be legit and prefer to take my time with it.
