The news, and politics?

Do you keep up with this stuff? I used to, but the news is depressing and politicians are a bunch of blabbermouths. Also, do you think it's seen as "mature" to be actively involved in the dissemination of this junk? When I used to watch CSPAN and whatnot, my brother would think I was acting "fancy." XD So, I guess it's seen as sophistacted/tasteful :s

Yes I do. I like to know what's going on in the world, Good or bad. Even though half the stuff they say on all news stations are a bunch of crap, sugar coated to appease one or another agenda.

I love reading about political ideologies.... but what mess is happening out in the world.... is something I don't care anything about.... sooooo... studying the ideologies are fun... political activity... boring XD

I do. It can be quite entertaining... you think you've seen it all and yet you still find something to top it. the problem is usually trying to sort out the mis-infomation even across multiple sources. it's interesting to see who supports what and where people and their beliefs are.

I used to read FT, NYT, WSJ, Time's, The Economist, Newsweek, The Atlantic, HBR...and so on until I started working. Lesser leisure time means lesser amount of time to spend on reading the news. Eventually, I just stick to NYT/The Economist and the occasional HBR.

Gonna miss John Stewart too. I keep up with some things and engage the reps with the emails/calls if I feel it is dire. Sometimes I get a response or a debate, sometimes a can-o-gram. Everyone thinks the politician is loyal to their lobbyist donors and that is partially true. They will follow the advice of the think-tanks and lobbyists if the people do not weigh in besides on election day. You have to remind them who they work for and the consequences of failure. Think-tanks cook data to get polls to convince politicians certain things are better than they are. If it affects you or someone you care for and not them you are the leading expert, not some paper pusher.

@ Kichigai ! No, I think that guy was terrible xD He looked half-baked every episode.. & @Darkschneider, I like your phrasing ^^ I'm in ESPR's boat, I rather read about past wars and whatnot than be following the more mundane things like political positions, elections, kickback scandals, etc.
