Huh... To choose someone elses idea put on paper and fantasize or have a warm flesh and blood body that's as real as me and knows what it means to be human? Yeah...That's a real toughy... So, what's the dilemma in this thread again? I get it, art is beautiful and the things that dreams and imagination are made of, but how exactly can that in any rational sense ever come close to Trumping reality? When fantasy is what you desire most, it may be time to change your reality... Life is far more beautiful than any artists rendering, flaws and all.

The problem is you can fuck a piece of paper anytime you want. It never says no or it has a headache.

Nothing beats the real thing IMHO but there are some iconic 2d girls that may be like the Mona Lisa of this era *cough* Belldandy vs. Erza. This reminds me of the book Idoru by William Gibson for some reason. What happens when someone wants to officially marry a future virtual celeb Miku/Sharon Apple? As for perfection, that is impossible for humans to judge 100% objectively and be universally accepted by all. Some of the best 2d girls have flaws that makes them, beyond visual stimuli, attractive. Nature and people are already perfect, flaws and chaos are the machine of nature so things do not die of stagnation.

yaasshat, it's perfectly rational when you realize how disgusting reality is. Life is ugly, life is hard, life is unfair, life is hell, 2D is love.

2D is nice for in between 3d relationships, I think. Enjoy one till you have the other, lol. If you're lucky, you and your 3DGF might enjoy the same 2D wifus and have a weird 2D threesome somehow. Problem solved: Get a hentai manga (or even a few pages) made of yourself, your partner AND the 2D Wifus and post it on a wall where the 3D sex goes on. Everyone wins. Go the extra mile and get voice acting done, too. Gotta have that background noise.

It's because of eroges that I fell in love with love itself... Cheesy but sadly true.

You people are weird to even entertain the idea of a 2d romance... And that's saying something, coming from a pony. Note: MLPony porn is nasty, btw. Don't bring it up.

What makes anime so apealing is that it over-emphasises the aspects that we find atractive. The large eyes and simplistic features give an impression of welcoming innocence that you often have to dig deep to find in a real person. And because emotions and personalities are often so exagerrated in anime, we develope a certain distinction between real and fictional people. This is also why anime fans tend to act so outwardly quirky. We reassimilate the traits we find more attractive and attempt to apply them in a real-world sense.

Actually if you go out to nature you'll see the world is actually really beautiful. Have you ever seen a fully starlit sky with the milky way and shooting stars pass you by? That is the most beautiful scene in this world and is full of wonder and makes you realize How small you really are in the universe but how wonderful it is to be that small, to be that individual little flame that is light by its own hopes and will to live. You can do many things in life as long as you believe you can achieve it. The universe is govern by rules but humans have a free will and free spirit that many things in the universe don't have. You can do great things if you let yourself do it. The universe is govern by rules and we cannot escape our destinies. One day we all will return to the ground or to the wind or to the sea, or even to the depths of outer space if you wish. It's not a depressing thing, It's not the end for the soul. It's just how nature works. Nature is truly a beautiful thing. Because everything has a reason, Nothing is pointless, Nothing is in vain. The cycle continues and continues. It's a beautiful thing. You just have to open your heart to realize it.

@Key Nah, don't feel bad about that. Sometimes we need a little fiction to help us enjoy reality.
