Judging

People are always surprised to find out how much of an otaku I am and that's fine but when some people find I like anime and other cultural japanese things I get some, how can I put this, mean reactions ? For example : "You don't look like one of those weird people." "But you seem normal" "Oh wow you're a loser like them" From other otakus that I've heard or they've said to me : "See probably only watches dumb/mainstream/romance anime" "She only wants attention" "She probably does slutty cosplay" I really don't like to sounds whinny but some of these times have hurt my feelings, I approached some of these people in confidence that someone would accept me because we love the same thing. Now I guess my question What do you think about this kind of thing? Has this happened to you ?

that sucks! everyone has their opinions on different things! I was told before, " your a grown woman and you still watch those cartoons!! Get with reality!" Your stuck in a dream world! They just don't understand it and never will! Your not alone at all!

Nope, and just ignore those people who judge. They just like to look down on people because they think their better. Also, don't consume an argument with them because that's what they want. Just enjoy your life and let them waste every minute judging people.

*Judging here* ... *They're *...ahem...Moving on...:P I can't say that I've ever really been judged because of liking anime. I've had some ignorant people laugh because they just think of it like "Saturday morning cartoons ", but then I find out they watch a few here and there themselves. Really, I could care less, it's just another form of entertainment and is usually deeper than most American shows, let alone American cartoons. Once you become an adult ( which you are), you tend to realize that little things like what you watch , really mean nothing on who you are. Most adults don't really care and a good chunk watch some anime here and there anyways.

Oh, I got a story! In college I was in my dorm room, chilling on my bed between classes. So my room mate comes in with a couple of his friends and one of them noticed my wall scrolls but didn't notice I was there. He asks them, "Do you guys think he jacks it to anime?" The other two might as well have been shaking their heads and doing that stop while your ahead gesture because they saw me stand up behind him. He must have realized someone was behind him because he turned around so slow just to see me standing there all blank faced. I'll tell ya, I never seen someone sprint out of a room so fast before. Never saw any of them ever again. I wonder why.

I always get that, no one ever believes me when I say I'm obsessed with anime, they also can't believe I'm 100% born and raised in Mexico. Fam, plus american shows are fucking badass too, Game of thrones, breaking bad, the wire, american horror story, that is life fam.
