Lets see cosplay is about acting out as the character and having fun so age really should not matter unless you are one of those people who feel cosplay has to be replicated perfectly and are basically implying a different definition then the original.
I saw an older Asian couple at the last con I went to. They looked like they were in their late 60's. And cosplayed as Hidden Leaf ninja's from Naruto. Lol. They looked great to be honest!
They seem to think that you're never too old to cosplay. And frankly, I feel the same way.
I also believe people of any weight, and skin tone, should cosplay anything they want. In my opinion it should be about having fun, and you're never too old to have fun.
I beileve that if you wish to dress up as your favorite character from anything weither it be sci-fi or anime, you can do it. What I've learned from my elders is that adults are just big kids, so let your inner kid out. If you want to consplay and you don't care what people think, have at it. If you care about what others think then don't do it, because people that don't consplay and say it's not normal will judge you. (Pfft what is normal anyways)
NEVAR! I'll be cosplaying when I'm in my 70s like this sweet old guy who always goes to Otakon. We actually ended up in a discussion because I'd said I'd cosplay Cologne from Ranma when I was his age and he said HAH why cosplay an old woman when you'll be one.
