What is Maiotaku to you

I think that this is something that should be evaluated. I myself see it as of course a social site and dating site but moreover a way to express views and such towards others. Maiotaku is one of my main social outlets because frankly im a rather shy person unless its online. Now with my view out of the way I would like to hear others.

Maiotaku to me is a site I come to so I caninteract with people with the similar iinterests. Yes it's a dating site but I also see it as a way to make new friends, so I'm not really too desperate to find a date, but that would be nice. I'm usually a shy guy myself at first but once I'm comfortable I can be outgoing and cheerful, and I think this site can bring out the comfortable side of me if I ever meet anyone here

Although, I will probably never meet the one I am looking for and hope to find on this site cause of the age difference between me and 90% of the woman on here. I am not someone who looks down at age as being a factor but more or less trying to find someone mature enough for a serious relationship is a very difficult matter. I see this as more of a social site over a dating site. I get the chance to interact with people and discuss anime and other interests that I have to hide around people I work with so I am happy to be on here. But I still don't give up my hope on meeting my own personal Ikoras. :-)

It was a dating site - but then I realized I am either uninteresting or it's just too many people inactive here - I kinda deterred from it as a dating site and just look at it now as a place to talk in the "random chatter" threads.

Well I personally believe the site could do better myself but this is one of the few that are made for anime fans. If anything we need more people to take the matter into their own hands and make the site active. For it to really take back off again we need it to feel normal and not forced. As in a steady flow of threads and comments that dont feel like they are being put there just to make the site active. As well as more users commenting on walls besides just dating reasons. Both the wall and the forums need to be active for it to work.

I think everyone here is looking for alien pirate maid catgirl's obviously. What is this mysterious thing you call friends?
