Girls and anime.

There's always been a thing with me that makes me attracted to girls that like anime/manga. I'm pretty sure there's lots of people on here that feel the same be it boy or girl. I just need some opinions as to why? Personally I think it's because most of the time people that are into the Japanese culture are really fun to get to know. I've never dated anyone that liked anime so yeah im thinking of looking for a otaku girl, because honestly what's better?xD

It is usually because they found someone with a similar interest. And unlike two people liking Lady GaGa or (Insert famous person/place/ thing here), it's a thing that Society considers "weird" or "Shun-able" And when you find some other person who likes these "taboo" things, you feel more comfortable, or you tend to feel that you are more normal. You want to be with some one that doesn't make you feel singled out and gets/enjoys what you like.And just the same as guys who manage to find and obtain gamer girlfriends, Anime and even other fandoms tend to be that way as well.

Well, for me personally, I had to hide the fact that I liked anime and manga through out my childhood, especially during high school. I was afraid of being teased. For some reason liking anime is called "lame", "weird", or "nerdy" and not everyone accepts it. So I guess once you see a female that likes these things just like you do, you're attracted to her cause it's not everyday you meet someone that does. And you won't have to worry about being called weird or a nerd for liking it cause according to society she's weird as well lol! ^_^ I too have never dated anyone that really liked anime and i hope one day I get to. Cause I would really enjoy going to conventions and watching animes with a boyfriend. It seems like it would be really fun.

^ That's pretty much my stance on the whole must like whichever prominent hobby I have right now thing. I mean, there's so much more to people than just what their hobbies are that I feel like if I were to go on that, I'd be limiting myself from meeting really awesome people. Also maybe it's just that I've only lived in large cities, but I've never encountered that thought that liking anime wasn't acceptable. In fact, the fandom seems to be much much larger and mainstream now than ever before :/

Yeah I get what you guys are saying. But very true about the finding someone like that been rare. I only know a few girls that like it. It's atleast something you can both enjoy though, I think having someone to just stay at home and watch anime with would be just awesome.

I want to find an Otaku girl too so that we can go to conventions and Cosplay together.. But i don't know the feeling that you need to hide the fact that you like anime.. I Think its because here where i live Otakus are accepted by the society and if you know a lot of Anime instead of being teased they will praise you..
