I dunno, maybe it's just me but I can't talk about one topic all the time :p. That and just having the same hobby doesn't mean it'd be a good match. You guys could still have conflicting personalities, lifestyles, and/or points of view. That would kill a relationship super quick

I agree with xueli. I like anime and games, but that would not make a relationship I want. I want to have talks of news stories, events, families, work, and religion (I still want the other person to enjoy anime and games). I wouldn't want a relationship that just consists of one topic.

For me its because I'm a hopeless romantic and anime girls are more receptive to that as apposed to posting on there Facebook they are because they think it makes them look cute, when they don't actually mean it. Prince charming relationships do not exists, Hollywood endings do not exist, But anime relationships (in more cases than not) more accurately reflect real life. Hear me out on this, How often do you feel awkward around a girl you like? Your crush is into someone else? You don't even realize the girl you talk to about other girls is into you? Or many of the other real life scenarios depicted in anime. I want a happy ending with someone like then end of most series where things are just starting. I want a real relationship not a Hollywood ending and alot of girls I have met who are into anime want and expect the same thing. The only difficulty is we all seem to be a bit more shy and awkward (also reflected in the realistic relationship dynamics portrayed in anime). I'm just looking for the girl to start my own story with, no ending, to be continued....

@scittykat: I don't believe ANYONE wants a 'one-trick pony'. On the contrary, I think the percentage of people that actually ARE one-trick ponies is way less than people think.
I have many passions in life, that is, things that are a part of me and my life that probably will never change because of an outside source (anyone other than myself), so why not start with a few of these things in common?
On the other hand, these passions are PASSIONS, so sometimes, it's a false base. Oftentimes people say they 'love' something, but they can't even attatch their own opinion to it ("I love this song!" "Why?" "Because it's #1 on the charts...and I can twerk to it! Lady Ga...blah, blah, wah, wah waaah, blah..."). For me, people that say they love something but only have a shallow interest in it are worse than the ones that admit they have no interest at all. The percentage of one-trick ponies amongst these people tend to be considerably higher...
Again, I have way more than one passion, so it's ok if you don't share ALL of them. I can totally just...not discuss it with you. All I ask is that you don't knock me for having it.
On topic (and wrapping it up in a nice, neat bow), 'I understand' is probably just as important as 'I love you'. Never underestimate that.

Just to throw my two cents in...
I'd like to think that women who are interested in anime are more culturally open-mined and hopefully more interesting. I'm probably not what would be classified as an "otaku", and I definitely wouldn't cosplay if left to my own devices. But I'd like to think that anime/manga has separated me from the crowd and made me a better person overall.

Not even really in deep thought about it:
Because it's a start.
If you share at least one thing you yourself are passionate about then at least you know you got one thing in common.
But don't let that be the sole basis on your interest in them because that's just rude.

Can you imagine trying to explain anime to someone, who isn't already into it? You would sound completely immature and childish. (From experience)
Especially if you cosplay, it's horrifying. So, yeah. Best to keep in the Otaku pool of suitors, but that's just my opinion. Not saying everyone is that close minded, but you know?

Lol if your not willing to read (my post is for people that care)
I agree with Xueli on keeping an open mind on people who have different hobbies than you but I think If you truly love something you can talk about that topic and never get tired unless the other person gets tired :D I agree with Sandhound21 on with "women who are interested in anime are more culturally open-mined" I believe that to be true and it helps when it come to online dating..take for example me I'm form the Caribbean and most people on here are from North america so it is a bit tedious to talk complete English in order for other to understand my expressions...having someone who is culturally open minded would allow me to speak without a leash around my neck.
Summary
Otaku girls are interesting because
They are culturally open minded
They are welcoming and friendlier than usual people
Easy to talk to.
