Role-Play "The Haven"

(Anyone is welcome to join, make sure that your posts can be understood. Grammar is not an issue here. Enjoy, and please keep posting in a timely manner or your post will be skipped until you rejoin.) (I will be constantly adding "encounters" to the game in order to keep things interesting as days go by in the world. If anyone has suggestions of how they would like to see this play out, by all means suggest them.) BackStory-Info of the world: The world that lays before you is vast and has no end to it. From down below where the heat is so hot that it will melt the toughest of metals, and up above where the air is so thin gravity has little to no effect on regular mass. Between the Realms is a placed called "The Haven" that is built up to keep balance between these realms. It would be an easy task if both sides were not curious about one another after the war that had insued just a few hundred years back which split them apart thus creating "The Haven." There, is the resting place of all of the heroes whom fought against both worlds in the fierce war. Within "The Haven" is where people who don't belong to the Upper or Lower Realm linger. As they have slowly been manifesting the middle realm over the years. The war that ensued between the Upper and Lower Realm is no more than a story that pass along the people as time passes. Oblivious to what is actually out there they continue their lives roaming their world in a type of tranquil peace. Of course their are spills from the Upper and Lower Realm every so often, which means that their will never be rest for the guardian on duty, as their is always a guardian that is instated to watch over the lands to make sure their are no battles that harm the people in the middle realm. The Beginning: Within "The Haven," there is a place where people come and pass through or visit, from other worlds and dimensions. Creatures, divinations, people from far away lands that have to pass through the guardians gate before entering "The Haven" and continuing their journey, what ever it may be that brings them to the gates. Within the world of "The Haven" is where creatures of all kind mingle with humans of the world. At the gate you will meet the current guardian of the world, his name is Luchian Kurai. Clothed from head to toe in a dark cloak, holding a book in his right hand with torn chainmail hanging out from under his attire. A metal mask being worn, as well as his metallic gauntlets grasping his book, as he leans up against the door waiting for the next visitor to appear so he can grant or deny them passage into the world. After Entrance: Once the gate-keeper has accepted your request and you pass through the gate, you will stand in a null and void area that will slowly build itself around you with lush grass accompanied by healthy trees and a pathway made of golden sand that glimmers under the sunlight and glows under the moonlight in order to guide travelers to the tavern/pub that was built midway between the exit from the gate and the entrance into the regulars world. All who travel to "The Haven" has visited the tavern at least once.

The first newcomer was, to his core, a mighty warrior. Indeed, a tall and daunting figure, clad in ancestral armor worn by his father, and by his father, and indeed all of their fathers as well. Slung on his back was a large sword, no doubt the cause of many a widow in his land. His helmet bore the pattern of a monster of a religion long since extinct, beleived to symbolize him as more then a mere man on the battlefront. Indeed, the sight of a mighty samurai with the face of a demon, carving soldiers as a chef would carve meat, would make even a most devout warrior consider his options! The name Kanbei was the name his parents had given him, and he wore it with pride as he strode to the gate, his eyes peering at Luchian as he never broke his confident stride. "I seek Passage into the Haven. Let me pass." Kandbei commanded, direct and to the point...

Closing his book as he looks up at the newcomer that stands in front of him wearing some foreign attire. Standing up firmly and stretching his shoulders a bit before speaking in a low voice," You seek passage? What is your reasoning for coming to this realm?" He inquisitioned as he glanced over the mans form and weapon that he bore. His book being held on the right side of him as his left hand rests on his belt."State you name and reasoning for coming here and then I will decide if you will be granted passage here."

"I am Kanbei, and I seek to enter into this realm so that I may pursue a man whom has eluded me for many years. That is all I shall disclose." Kanbei relayed. Many years ago, a single man had defeated him in a great and attrocious battle, but for whatever reason, had stained his honor by letting him live. In redemption, Kanbei sought the elusive man who beat him, going off of little more than a vauge symbol on his armor, and spending many years hunting down leads and possibilities before concluding that his target had fled the lower realms. Kanbei never kept his powerful gaze off Luchian, waiting for the gaurdian's answer to his request...

He glances over the man slightly before opening his book and flipping through the pages a little bit," I see you're looking for someone you say? Would he have come from your realm as well?" He inquires more before closing his book, holding an emblem in his hand that looks something like a crest."Well I will say this, I am the guardian of this realm. If anything where to happen to this world because of something that is caused by you then I will have to swiftly take action against it." He says before holding out the crest to the travelling man."This will grant you passage into my realm, do not lose it."

Kanbei eagerly received the crest from the guardian, and gave a slight nod of thanks. "I won't loose it, rest easy of that." Kanbei affirmed. Kenbei then shifted his attention from the gate, beyond which his future, fortune, and honor would lay. Using the power of the crest he had received from the guardian, he watched the door slowly open, like the wings of some great bird of prey, and passed through the gaping doors... [Wasn't sure how it worked so I took a smidge of creative liscence and kinda' guessed lol]

Just then, 11 feet above the guardian a man appeares in mid-air and comes hurdling downwards smashing into the ground next to the guardians feet with a loud "Ooomph!" raising a small dust cloud upon impact, he gets up and looks around looking seeming somewhat dissoriented. After dusting off his black jeans, he turns towards the guardian and smiles. "Greetings Friend, I seek passage into The Haven", he takes out a small piece of paper from the pocket in his white collar shirt and hands it to the guardian. "My credentials, good sir" He says smiling ear to ear, "I expect they are in order?"

(It's alright, the door will appear different to each person. So the person coming in after you will just look like you vanish) Closing his book and watching Kanbei enter the gate before hearing a noise beside him, a small dust of cloud forming up before dispersing as fast as it appear."Well...seems we have a character here," he said to himself as he closed his book and looked at the gentlemen holding out a piece of paper. Taking it from the man lightly and glancing over it." I see, you seek passage into the Haven." He said lightly as he looked over the man and opened his book, taking out a crest and pinning it onto the piece of paper and handing it back to the man on the floor."Well, this is your pass into the world, remember not to cause any problems or I will have to swiftly take action against it. Also losing your crest brings bad fortune in this world, so do take care of it." He says as he closes his book and stands firm," You may enjoy your stay at The Haven."

"thank you, friend!" The man replies as he receives the crest, "If I may take a moment of your time?" He folds the small paper together and puts it back in his pocket "I have an inquiry about a sage that goes by the name of Yskarn, I'm seeeking audience with him and rumors have it he is here in The Haven" He nods toward the book in the guardians hand "I pressume You would know wether he is or not?"

Looking over the man against as he is given a question."A moment you say? I think I can spare some time." he says as he listens to the mans request, opening his book and flipping through the pages as he looks for the name." Yskarn....Yskarn..." He says as he looks through some more pages before stopping and reading a bit."Ah he was here many years ago, and hasn't seem to have left The Haven as far as I've seen, unless he died or left another way." He closes the book and glances back at the man,"The last area he was last noted to be in was called the forest of the wicked, you may find the answers you seek there. But that is as all the information I currently have."
