Confidence is what you need. As my best friend (who is 400 pounds and has a wide range of girls we dates) says, Don't give two shiiis about anything and just show you are confidant in anything you do. Also don't focus on appearance if you do you'll never find someone.

@dragonrage ^+1. Confidence > Aesthetics. As a guy, you would think that the opposite sex would be all about appearances too, but they're not (it still matters though, but not nearly as much as you think; just take care of yourself). @ooreikaoo Better to build confidence from rejection than build muscle/hit the gym and barely any confidence at all. The former is easier (and funner imo).

It does, it helps, but you don't need it. And as nerds with a lot of dedicated, nerd hobbies (which I'm sure comprises a huge chunk of people here, come on, it's a dating site for *otaku*;), unless you find bodybuilding fun or useful, there are far more intellectual pursuits we'd all rather spend our time with (undeniable; just look at the average guy nerd) as we perceive the return on investment from bodybuilding as pretty low. I know quite a few people that are 6' and aesthetic as f*ck but are still chumps with women. Confidence is a state of mind, not a six pack, a height above 6', and broad shoulders. Not to bash on bodybuilders or anything but on the aggregate, nerds don't care about it, and it's not the only venue for confidence. I'm actually trying to get in shape myself, but only so I can fit into more cosplay, i.e. it happens to supplement one of my hobbies that I already have. Outside of that, I could care less. I'd feel sorry for the nerd that picks up bodybuilding purely for confidence building when he could have just spent that time going out and approaching girls instead of spending so many hours in the gym every week that he could have otherwise and would have rather spent to build rockets or code software.

Well they can take the cake or leave it. I'd rather be doing awesome things for myself than doggy tricks to add that cherry. Life is short, and as a nerd, I have too many things I'd rather be doing. I'd feel like a tool if I spent all that time pumping iron just for a *slightly better chance* for an audience with them, when all they had to do was be a grill, sit back, and take their picks.
