Literature!

yuuki_rai
I don't know if this topic already exists, but I didn't see one, so here it is. Let's talk about literature. Favorite stories? Authors? Favorite period? Genre? Not to mention, group debate! For starters, I love literature from the 19th century and seem to especially take to English literature. Anyone else?

Oh.. well then I start! I don't have any preference, I found "The animal farm" by George Orwell really hilarious. Its a parody yet a sad story of the Soviet Union. :3

I enjoy any sort of literature, tho I'd have to say the 'M*A*S*H' novel and Jeanette Walls 'The Glass Castle' are amongst my favourites of late. Brian Jacques and his Redwall series were favourites when I was in high school, haven't found many of em recently since he passed D:

As my name would give away, I am a big fan of Frank Herbert's works, Aside from that the list is far too long, ranging from fiction, philosophy, history/non-fiction, classics (Edmond Rostand is a personal favorite), commons such as Shakespeare, Nietzsche (Thus spoke Zarathustra is fantastic) "true" classics such as Homer, Sophocles, Marcus Aurelius.... Far too much to list. I generally read anything that catches my attention.

Anything from Murakami :] Otherwise, I prefer fantasy/fiction/adventure novels. Also read a lot of poetry books, too. :3

I enjoy a variety. Pride and Prejudice. Hunger Games. Jodi Picoult books (author). The Good Earth. Eragon. Jane Eyre. Emma. Anything from Jane Austen or Charles Dickens. Time Traveler's Wife. And a lot of others. Yes, I carry a book with me at ALL times. I love to read anything, but math.

My favorite would be Dr Jekyll and Hide. It fascinates me everytime Hollywood fails to make a movie out of that book. There have been 6 movies and not a single one was even remotely the same thing as the book. But I read some awesome comic based on the book. Dont remember the title but it was really badass. Hide was a bodybuilder in that comic and jekyll could summon dead samurai warriors to fight on his side.
