Need suggestions for something to watch

tader_salad
Hey'lo peoples. I'm looking for a new series to watch, specifically a greek tragedy if I can find one. I've already seen Soukyo no Fafner, Bonen no Xamdou, Code Geass(both runs), Elfen Lied, Samurai 7, Mai HIME, and Fate Stay/Night. Some of these fit the bill more than others but you get the idea. Reccomend something good and I'll love you forever >_<

Is there a greek tragedy anime? O_o; never heard of one. Slayers is pretty good I think. Nadia, Bubblegum Crisis, & Shangri La are good too. Sorry I don't have many I think you'd like as I'm a romancy, shoujo type of girl.

Romance is fine. Ai Yori Aoshi and Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu were some of my favs, and even kashi mashi wasn't that bad. Hated True Tears. But I'm looking for a tragedy so definetely no Slayers. Plus I don't think I'm strong enough to handle Naga's laugh anymore, might go insane.

Well there's heroic age it's based on greek mythos but it's not a tragedy. There's also claymore it's really tragic even though it doesn't follow any classical Greek myth it has the right siting and time period. Both have epic battles that make the 1st class. But I you want something that will break your heart with a high body count try school days or Higurashi no naku kuro ni both are infamous for having episodes pulled form airing on Japanese televison.

Oh and we all have nightmares about Naga's laugh in famous laugh it's like post-tramic stress. Every time you hear and over the laugh in anime you get flash backs.

OOO then X/X1999 I hear every damn body died at the end of that one. XD Chrono Crusade was pretty sad ToT Wolf's Rain, OMG slaughter FEST! TOT I cried...then was like WTF just happened? Syonara Zetsubo Sensei I had the pleasure of catching like the last 2 episodes as my room mate was watching it.

Hmm apparently Naruto has a lot of tragic moments & there's one called Lone Wolf and Cub. I never heard of it but it's in this article where the author talks about manga/anime & it's many tragic themes compared to Disney & the like over here. http://news.newamericamedia.org/news/view_article.html?article_id=03efe1df84856ec38253658f0c5d2559

Thanks for the suggestions. I have seen Claymore and Chrono Crusade and both were good. Just to clear things up a little bit a greek tragedy is just a story that challenges the concept of a fairy-tale ending. The hero doesn't always get the girl, or walk off into the sunset, or make it out of the final battle (or at least not with all his/her friends alive). It's wrought with sorrow and loss. Naruto is awesome. I keep up with the fansubs every week but I know he's going to pull through with a power/guts maybe he didn't even know he had. That's not true with Fafner, Crusade or Samurai 7. I will check out School Days, Higurashi no Naku Kuro Ni and Lone Wolf. Sadly I cannot find X/1999 the movie for the life of me. Either online OR at a vendor. Only the series which sucked.

The Samurai X OVA would be a good choice I think, or Samurai Champloo.
