This morning I reread the anonymous confessions thread and saw some of your posts. You talked about how much things had changed here on MO. It made me kind of sad, because I completely agree. There used to be drama, but it would only happen for maybe once every few weeks at most and everyone would be shook up about it. Drama existed, but it happened occasionally. Now it seems to be the norm. I'm hoping you won't mind my little rant and feel free not to read any of it if you simply don't care. I think it does have to do with age a little. I remember that my parents got the first computer with internet on it. When I first found out you could go online and talk to people about subjects you both liked, I was so grateful. We shared opinions and we valued other's opinions. We asked people what they thought about things. Now, sometimes, people are more interested in getting their own opinion across and when so, even forcing it down each other's throat. The only opinion I try to force on people is that everyone is free to their own opinion, but that we also need to respect each other when expressing it. It seems as though people have forgotten that opinions are only opinions. That has something to do with the culture, because that seems less age-related. There's people in powerful places that give bad examples left and right and sadly, not only young and impressional people pick up on it. It's as if there was an army of people waiting for the moment for influential people to validate all their darkest thoughts. Well, sorry for the long post. It's just that what you said resonated with me and I've been thinking about it for the past 2 hours, even while walking my dog. Let's just say that what you said was only reinforced my believe that you're one of my favourite people on MO. You not only remind me of the golden days of MO. You're like a gold coating that is applied to whatever MO is now

But since I've been sticking around more lately, I noticed how different it is. I've even been necro posting because there are so many people that don't get on anymore that I miss. I spoke to Wes, Maria, and Sunflower a few nights ago on discord... the old discord still exists. hahah from 2016

Lisanthur @sanfi I've last talked to Sunflower a few months ago. I've pretty much kept contact with Maria, although the last months she's been really busy. I still talk to Teacup a lot, even a video call now and again. A few weeks ago I bonded with Shawnji over the Final Fantasy VII Remake. I'm not sure if you knew Fatalis? She also went by Artemis and Areon. I talk to her almost every single day. It's funny how 2016 feels like such a long time ago
