I’ve never been very good a describing myself. I guess I don’t really know where to start, but here goes nothing.
I’m a Military veteran. I joined because it’s what I wanted to do with my life then, and to be honest it still is. I got out for the same reason a lot of guys do anything stupid, a woman. Now I know it’s some kind of taboo to mention past relationships, but I think it would be hard to talk about myself without bringing this one up. I was young, I made mistakes, but I’ve always found that when you can look back at your mistakes and understand them you can gain a better understanding of yourself, what you can do better and what you want from life. I thought that I was in love, and that to be in love meant throwing away everything to embrace that fact. Like I said I was young and stupid. So after getting engaged, me leaving the service and the, looking back on it at least, inevitable breakup I was presented with the opportunity to grow from that experience and I learned a lot about myself, what I can do better, and what I want from life.
I’m a student. One of the things I’ve learned about myself is that I want to finish my education. It was something that I never put much stock into after high school, but now…I think it’s something that I need to do.
I’m going to get back in uniform. Looking back at it now, I wonder why I didn’t see it sooner, but I belong in uniform. It’s who I am, it’s my way. I wish I knew a better way to put it but no matter my skill with the English language I can only say that it’s what my life has led me to become.
I have a past. I rather obvious statement I know but it’s something that I need to say. It’s not happy, it’s not something that I enjoy talking about but it is what has shaped me into who I am. It’s made me slow to trust and rather cynical at times, but it’s also made me realize just how precious the small things in life are. The ability to be surrounded by those who trust and respect you, to laugh, to find those small moment in life when you can’t help but smile…those are the most precious things in the world and should be cherished for the treasures that they are.
Okay happier notes, I love dogs, I like having music playing while I do house work, I love to cook not quite that good a baking yet but I plan on training to get up there. I enjoy being physically active, hiking, sports, hitting the gym, etc.
