It's really hard for me to be alone in a crowd like that too. I need a buffer for stranger or I tend to spend the whole time looking down and avoiding eye contact.

That's unfortunate. I just went to my first anime convention this last weekend. A good friend who got me into anime in the first place was able to go with me for a day so I was super happy. I haven't checked out renfests much. What do you like best about them?

Holy shit that's brilliant. Full name is probably the hardest to get if they are more of the younger generation where they don't have much in terms of a social network yet. But I guess young people don't really bother pretending to be someone else. Thanks a bunch. That really open up my eye.
