Exactly, I have lost count of how many people I have seen manipulating others with sweet words, then, the victims going on a rampage upon finding out, it sucks and it's horrible to be played with your feelings, I think that it is still more the fault of the victim rather than the agressor, if the victim knew how to criticize information and how to detect lies they wouldn't find themselves in such scenarios. Personally I like coming up with my own assumptions when I'm asked to take sides with my friends, everyone usually paints themselves as saints and the embodiment of purity to a degree that makes me sick, once they finish I usually realize that a person who doesn't admits to being part of the problem and contributes actively to a circumstance is nearly worse than the agressor for making false reports and altering reality on their favor, I have unveiled sick plots on this fashion a few times in which the agressive nature of the offensive part made complete sense. I think if people knew how to be better critics of information and what is real and fake, people would mature earlier and make less annoying mistakes. I took two hours yesterday to read some of the forums and realized there's quite a few people that lack this common sense of courtesy to analyze information before attempting to murder others, I'm gonna reject contact with those, I have little patience for idiots

Problem with Alexander is that he's way too good, isn't it super weird that someone is so perfect? I mean yes, he was unable to have a child, but still!!! I wonder how far fetched are the lies engraved among the truth, like an old teacher once told me on a reading club meeting, "the point of reading is to be able to criticize what you read, if you allow yourself to be impressed by words your knowledge and determination will be painted by the will of others" I never dwelve much into existentialism, so I cannot really compete on this topic, that's why I gave such a poor answer to train, I think that so far people is able to use their criticism, they will avoid being clouded by bullshit!

tsunpaper
Tsunpaper @tsunpaper I'm glad! I usually like using PMs myself actually... I always get so self-conscience about other people reading conversations I have. Enki is very nice to talk to. I'm glad you are also getting along with her.

I just kind of noticed, that talking about genocides, erradications, forced marriages and all other sort of things, while my profile pic is super friendly and innocent looking is a bad match ;-;
hakutaku
Lishifu @hakutaku To be honest, I doubt if many people will read your detailed conversations with Tsunpaper ..They may just skip those conversations.

Not to mention, the fact that history is usually written by the victors and from their perspective, why? because as far as I'm concerned, its logical to eradicate anyone who might have a different perspective from an event, specially if they are on the victims side, having a witness that might discredit heroic acts by a nation might stir trouble among the populace, for example Alexander the Great, as you said, is still hailed as an extraordinary tactician and strategist, easily put in the top 10 generals of all time, however, what about his dark sides? do we have ample records of the massacres that he most likely committed to cleanse the Persians dominion over the lands he conquered? did he ever gave orders for a genocide? what about the woman he married that was the daughter of his sworn enemy and king, we are told everyone pretty much agreed with it and just went along with the idea of having a marriage with the daughter of the Persian King, however... Isn't it way too much of a coincidence that she never bore a son? People could argue that the timing was never right, that he soon fell ill afterwards, whichever the case was, from another perspective it could be perceived as a forced situation on her, distress caused from this altering her body to the point of infertility... If so... Why don't we know anything of this? Other examples are, when countries get obliterated and subjugated, yet, the aggressors are seen as the embodiment of chivalry and just causes, I wonder how much people would nowadays accept with a straight face being Christians-Catholics if they were told of the atrocities the crusaders did on the Muslims in the past? I wonder how would they feel if they were suddenly told "Your religion is the main reason why Islam became such a radical thing and one factor for extremism of religion taking over states policies" why do we know so little in general of the crusaders? its because our education comes from people who don't want their religion to be antagonized, nor its culture. For the record, I am slightly religious, not a follower of Islam though!!! ;-;

I took my sweet time reading through everything before coming to a satisfactory answer!! Rather than it being difficult just for the sake of analyzing others I think the hardest part is not taking sides when anyone is having an extreme breakdown, sometimes it is painful to witness how my friends get heartbroken constantly by the same mistakes that they fail to learn from, this of course, does not mean Im excempted from this!!! Im a bit of an airhead sometimes so I also tend to make small mistakes all over the place ;-; This sort of could relate to history, we know of the events that happened in our lives on a set amount of time in the past, however we cannot prevent future screw ups or dangerous engagements from happening even if they are on the same note than what we already have lived through, which then ends on a disaster note, isn't it sort of romantic how we fail to rectify our behaviours despite our best efforts and knowledge? it's almost as if we were tied up to a chaotic fate whom binds us and forbid us from cutting the ties down. "History is the version of past events that people have decided to agree upon." - Napoleon Basically it could all be a very ridiculous set of events, yet, if people in the past had decided that it is what it is then how are we supposed to be able to properly judge the legitimacy of history? They are claims, verified by others, however such are the stories of Homer yet we know a good deal of imagination was put into them, plus theres people who claim Homer received a bunch of his tales from second hand informants, SO, what if one of those informants lied to him? not too shabby right?

Well I'm quite well versed on a number of different topics, being around a lot of people who constantly would put themselves into aggressive conflicts taught me quite a bit about how peoples mind works, Im quite young so I wouldn't dream of saying that Im a master on psychology, I did pondered whether it was acceptable to pick it as my craft for the future! history! ah, one of my cousins really likes it, whenever there is a family reunion he never shuts up about how europeans were barbarians in the past, some of that has stuck with me, don't expect much! I am but a newbie! I really enjoy talking about relationships, I haven't ever been in one! I have seen so many failures among my friends that I already know the basics of what to do and what to not do, so talking about it is really interesting for me!
