Incest has been frowned upon →_→..In ancient times, to avoid incest..people who had same surnames didn't intermarry...but weirdly enough marriage.between cousins was allowed...in some extreme cases...uncles married their nieces..→_→....
hakutaku
Lishifu @hakutaku One reason why we Han Chinese despised nomads is:continual marriage. A son could marry his stepmother and have their kids...
tsunpaper
Tsunpaper @tsunpaper There also few cases of brother marrying sister as well. But yes even marriage between cousins was enough to result in terrible genetic mutations over time, as if it wasn't already bad enough... Ah I would have issues with that as well.

In ancient China, royal lineage wasn't that important~People overthrew a dynasty established by a certain family and made themselves royal..Our people have infinite power! →_→...They also took advantage of marriage to get temperory peace.
tsunpaper
Tsunpaper @tsunpaper I did not know that. After all, the western education system is biased in only teaching western history with very little mention of the eastern half of the world.
hakutaku
Lishifu @hakutaku Confucianism has been part of this society.. People had the right to destroy the evil rulers and make themselves royal if those rulers were against the will of the Heaven's..How did people know if the rulers were against the will of the heaven's?....All kinds of natural disasters..It is true that rebellions led by peasants usually took place after large-scale natural disasters... BTW ...this cannot be applied to nomads who conquered China...
tsunpaper
Tsunpaper @tsunpaper That is also very interesting and still did not know that. I wonder how the whole of ancient history would have ended up if the whole world had that mentality in terms of defining leadership?
hakutaku
Lishifu @hakutaku The world history would be in a mess →_→..if success was the only standard

tsunpaper
Tsunpaper @tsunpaper Yes... practically all of royalty in the past were born out of incest and well it makes you wonder why there were so many wars... maybe all the leaders of the world were out of their minds? Just a thought.
hakutaku
Lishifu @hakutaku !Estranged relatives are no longer relatives. For power, some were willing to murder their brothers/sisters/parents..not to mention waging wars against strangers who shared a same ancestor with them..
tsunpaper
Tsunpaper @tsunpaper Very true! I wonder why people determined that royal lineage was important back then? We can only speculate today why they made that determination but for some reason that seems to be a theme from all around the world since ancient times.
hakutaku
Lishifu @hakutaku ∠(`ω´*) To convince civilians of validity and rationality of the power/titles they gain. They were not only rich but also owned blue blood! The glory passed down from their heroic ancestors.
tsunpaper
Tsunpaper @tsunpaper Yes, and for some reason everyone believed that XD
hakutaku
Lishifu @hakutaku Religion works! Brainwashing! Religion+secular power=.....you know...
tsunpaper
Tsunpaper @tsunpaper Ah, you're right I almost forgot about that! Many of them really used religion to control the people... such a shame.

meisterman1985 @meisterman1985 I pictured in my mind something similar: most insanely praised video games beating the ever-loving crap out of each other (e.g. FFVII, Zelda OoT, Chrono Trigger, etc.) in the philosophy memes' similar area like a battlefield. Meanwhile in the shelter-like cave area like academic philosophy's is where the most underrated least-mentioned video games stand.
