Dang I thought it was a law they had to pay you overtime when you worked over 8 hours no matter what... but I guess EMTs work super long shifts and don't get overtime so there are probably some weird loopholes with healthcare. Blegh. But yeah I totally get where you're coming from. Pretty great you get to work with kids now too, I think about switching out of the old people homes into a hospital or something for a change of pace. Only children's hospital around here is Helen Devos in GR that I know of. Aw, that's too bad you work! Hey maybe you can find someone to switch with you, Acen would be worth it.

I think Anime Central and Anime Midwest are both pretty close in attendance, but yeah, definitely the biggest cons in our area. I actually really liked CAD but I only went one year. Same here, I'd love to drop in on some of the smaller cons, just to say I've been there and tried it haha.

I've never cosplayed! xD But I do love going to cons and seeing everyone else's cosplays ^_^ Been to Shuto con a few years back and JFAX before they moved it downtown GR, plus a handful of others. Never been to Youmacon but I want to hit it someday, I've been going to Anime Central every year for probably 5 years and that pretty much sucks up my con-budget for the year rofl. Lol, well at my old job we did! It was nuts, you know those nights when like... you know the conditions aren't remotely legal and you get mandated into 16 hour shifts but you keep coming back to work because SOMEONE has to do it, and you can't just ABANDON these people... haha. I moved a few months ago though and have switched to a place where the conditions are laughably better. And sometimes I just miss the chaos.
