The name is an antithesis in a sense ;) It brings two contradictory concepts together. The jester is the person who has to be happy and funny all the time because it is his job. Even though he can feel sad at times he can't show it. As a result of that he looks happy and makes jokes but because he isn't allowed to express his true feelings the feeling of sadness festers. No one takes the jester seriously but he can't show it because that's his lot.

Thanks. I'm still kinda behind since I've been trying to catch up on school work. It's been hard to concentrate ever since I moved back to NC. I'm trying, though... haha.
