I like a lot of the series on your list.
Now that I've had time to think, I'd suggest Tsukiyomi Moon Phase (kind of an action/comedy romance), Air (drama comedy romance), and/or maybe Baka & Test (high school comedy)

Ditto. The women out where I am are absolutely self-centered and awful. You're near Toronto, right? I haven't heard great things about the people there either. Maybe it's a big city thing? Who knows.
