Ghost @kuharido My favorite David statue is the Donetello one. Though I still like Michelangelo's version. Makes me wonder how David actually looked like.

Depresso Sunset @verucassault Michaelangelo is an interesting one since he had a love for sculpting but was put in a position (forced) to paint. I don't think he hated painting but when a man sculpts like that, do not shove brushes and paints in his face. He's a great painter, a greater sculptor. I got to see David-Apollo at the National Gallery of Art when it was on loan. It's unfinished but still even his unfinished sculptures are still awesome looking. I want to see David in person. I also want to see the Pieta by Michaelangelo in person.

Depresso Sunset @verucassault Michaelangelo's David is Classic Roman in style. Donetello's seems to have a flare for its time. Also, the color sets it apart from classic sculpture. It's definitely more striking.

Depresso Sunset @verucassault I managed to find a work of art from all the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on that visit. I lucked out because another item on loan was a da Vinci painting. I knew it was there so I went to it first and in the same area there were paintings by Raphael. The statue for David-Appollo was on loan. Then I had like 15 minutes until close and I had to ask of there was anything by Donetello and they told me the only thing were these small sculpted pendant like items deep in the bowels of the gallery. I made it just as they were starting to usher people out of rooms and was probably the last person out when they locked up... that was the third day in a roll I had gone.

Depresso Sunset @verucassault Anyhoo. I stumbled upon that short and thought it was hilarious. People talk about true to form sculptures and they bring up phallus size. This was the first time someone talked anus. She's getting a follow.

Ghost @kuharido Yeah, that was pretty funny XD. I guess sculpting the anus isn't a priority. One of my favorite movies is the agony and the ecstasy. It's about Pope Julius II commissioning Michelangelo to paint the Sistine chapel
