My mother at one point was training to become a nun. She had given up on her final vows after coming into ideological conflict with the higher clergy. My mom is not one to be told what to do or believe. Something that is frowned upon in such an order. However it is worth mentioning she jacked a jug of holy water from the convent as her consolation prize. To this day she still keeps it around for emergency exorcisms. Then after that eventually she'd turn to waitressing where she would meet my father. He had been working 3 jobs after leaving the military and was living out of a truck. My mother said she originally had no interest in him until one day he came by with flowers for her. Then they had their first date on Halloween. After a year of dating she became pregnant with me and they were married a couple days before the anniversary of their first date. Mom wanted it on October 31 but the priest forbade any ceremonies on that day for superstitious reasons. The rest is history!
