godspell @godspell No I think he was perfect. He didn't care about being Bruce Wayne at all. He was a recluse no one watches. He believes he should be batman and that should be his legacy. All his anger and trauma all focus on all of his actions. He was prefect. That's how the first two years of batman were full of anger and no restraint.

godspell @godspell I was fine with that for riddler. Because this is a realistic world. Though obsession of becoming a somebody a focal point of attention made sense. He wanted everyone to know who he is. He was trying to connect with batman because he could solve his riddlers. He became instant friends with Joker just because of Joker riddle.

godspell @godspell Cudos to Paul Dano for his acting. Because he showed he wasn't sure or was sure that batman was Bruce Wayne. So did you figure out the riddler plan like I did?

Lamby @momoichi hes not really a recluse, he had followers, which i also didnt like. joker had followers. i like riddler as a littlw dweeb that forces social interactions out of people on his own terms. i also loved penguine. danny devito left huuuuuge shoes to fill, and i was iffy at first, but he did it great. i also loved catwoman, but the whole "HES MY FATHER!' was cringey. her wanting to help her friend was good enough reason to let her struggle with wanting revenge. but holy shit. robert patterson was sooooooo baaaaaaaaaaaad. it was hilarious. i couldnt stop laughing whenever he was on screen. which sucks cause he was so hot with the black make up and outfits, but oh man he was just a rock. him and catwomen had 0 chemistry. she have a good performance, but he was a wet sock the entire time. 0 reason why she would be into him.

godspell @godspell Oh no the recluse was batman. I felt it was fine because the riddler having people appreciate his was fun to watch his appreciation for him. Also I was fine with catwoman and the father side plot that was building up to it. Because he did ruin her life strangling her mother. Him deserving to be robbed of his money (which she did steal) but im also tired of catwoman appearing in batman films.

godspell @godspell Robert Pattison performance wasn't bad at all. I'm quite tired of hearing that. Because this batman was different. He was chatty. He would actually talk to people instead of being a silent brooding figure. He was a detective and discussed/work with commissioner Gordon which no other film has portrayed. I do believe you're right there didn't feel any chemistry between batman and catwoman. Because I feel batman didn't feel like he deserved or needed a love one

Lamby @momoichi dude, batman literally yelled at alfred "YOUR NOT MY REAL DAD". if he was a teenager id understand, but he is a whole ass adult. and he gave 0 emotion. constantly, 0 emotion. he was a dick to alfred for no reason. they presumed so much about batmans character, for us to be like 'oh batman acts like this because i already know his story' but it didnt work. i dont know why hes an asshole to alfred. look at catwomen, she was an orphan too and didnt have all of his money, yet shes a more well rounded human being. even riddler has a better grip of maturity than batman did. he acted like an angry hormonal teen. the plot was stupid too, i liked that the waynes had some corruption within them, but the whole 'the murder was an inside job!' was cliche. i liked it just being a tragic accident that happened to two good people. a meaningless act of violence. why not? gotham is a cesspool. a mugging gone wrong is good enough reason for them to be murdered. also, why was he fighting crime if all he cared about was solving his parents murders? why was he at the scene of the crime of the riddlers first victim? i thought he only cared about his parents? the story doesnt even acknowledge what theyr trying to accomplish

godspell @godspell He slowly opened up in the series realizing the faults he has committed. In believing no one should be important to him. The only thing important to him in the beginning was being batman. He was grappling with the two identities he had. He saw what that can do. Because riddler let his other face. His true face take over his entire identity throwing it all away

Lamby @momoichi does he? from my memory when riddler brings up legitate critisizes with bruce wayne (what iv been sayin since forever!) bruce ignores it. 0 emotion from being called out for being a brooding manchild. just goes on to call him a failure. if he was lashing out from being insulted, i had 0 context to believe that. when your wearing a fuckin mask you have to emote harder. purse your lips, clench your jaw, swallow hard. i saw none of that. he just stared at him vacantly and then called him a failure. riddler tells him 'i was in an orphanage and my fingers got bitten by rats at night," and batman is legit like "your a failure i hate you," like holy shit dude chill, he just told you his life story and your gonna be a dick about it cause he called you privileged? just makes batman seem like more of a manchild.

But im like I don't need to see another origin happen again. Also he said it in the beginning that this is his plan to heal the city from crime. He documents every night he's been out. Of course he would be at the crime scene Gordon called in the bat signal because the letter was addressed to him. This was a deep case outlying the Wayne's corruption on how one man wanted to do right and wanted to protect his family turned to an evil man. Then get killed for it. He has to protect the city his family gave their lives for

godspell @godspell Because he already psycho analyzed him from their meeting. This guy is not well. He's seeking validation from batman. He wants him to tell him it's ok what he's doing he has reason to do so. He wants a friend to be alright with his actions. Because riddler never killed anyone. And he's killed four people already. One can even say these riddles are all methods for him wanting to be stopped.

godspell @godspell Of course he hates Bruce Wayne. The Wayne project was perverted and taken advantage of instead of helping the orphans. That was alluding to him trying Guage his reactions to see if he was correct that it is Bruce Wayne after piecing it together

Also what do you mean Wayne enterprises going under. He doesn't care. All he wants to be is batman. After this movie he'll start to form his mask. Being Bruce Wayne and running the company as well. Because you already saw in the movie. Even if you have money try to fix the city like Bruce Wayne father. You're still fucked

Lamby @momoichi riddler is insane, yes, but the criticism was real. while riddler shivered cold in the winters, bruce was comfy and safe in his mansion, and yet he was all people cared for. this isnt the ramblings of a madman, this is logical thinking. and if we are to assume these are tha ramblings of a madman, why did batman lash out at him? call him a failure? thats doubley cruel. and the riddler did kill people. his first victim he bludgeons and then suffocates. i know why he hates bruce wayne, he is justified for that resentment. but there was 0 context to make us believe he was being like 'bruuucce waaaayne' as a way of hinting 'i know who you are' and why wouldnt riddler investigate who batman is? it wouldnt be hard to find out. hes clearly a genius
